Should have lent Clarkie your crystal ball and that never would have happened! - NickTheKid87
They should have fired Hitch a year earlier and it never would have happened. Or at least not let his penchant for keeping young guys in his doghouse force them to make a move that was unnecessary from a financial and a roster standpoint. |

feel really bad for Lappy right now. It's pretty clear that he was misunderstood.
I have no doubt that some media people are looking at this like: rape-Flyers-"rape is okay"- of course a Flyer would say this. |

It was a minor move that worked out for Chicago. Nothing more. |

Yeah that was taken out of context. He obviously means that the spot light is brighter on lower league players now then it was back in the day. No one would possibly say that rape is ok. If Cousins is found guilty then it will be dealt with by the law as it should. His court date can't come soon enough for him and for everyone. When is it? |

if you makes it feel any better, people seem to be giving lappy the benefit of the doubt given context, language, etc. but are absolutely torching seravalli and the daily news. |

Just read Lappy's comments. I think he was trying to support the kid. But not a good choice of words. - MJL
yes. quite ugly. still no idea what the DN or seravalli were thinking though. |

It's tough for Lappy seeing as how English is his second language. He has trouble articulating things in general. This time it happened to be an incredibly touchy subject. |

Broad Street Hockey @BroadStHockey
Just talked to Laperriere. Says he was misunderstood. "I would never say that rape happens all the time and that you can get away with it."
Broad Street Hockey @BroadStHockey
More Lappy: "What I meant was kids putting themselves in a wrong position, a vulnerable position."
Broad Street Hockey @BroadStHockey
I don't know what "vulnerable position" Lappy was referring to, exactly. He spoke generally of "not smart situations."

I believe that's how it's worded under Canadian law.

flyers are only 1 pt back of a playoff spot. with the loss of karlsson, in addition to their other injuries, ottawa is ripe to lose their position. if the flyers can get their act together on the road they'll be fine. and with hartnell and meszaros' return seemninly only a couple of weeks away, they could be in great shape. G and B need to get going - would be a huge boost. |

I think Paul Gaustad is a guy the Flyers could greatly benefit from. He is a huge, stereotypical 4th line center. Winning 60+% of his faceoffs right now.. chips in around 10-11 goals a season, and can plays 15 minutes a night. Dont think the Preds would trade him (to us especially), but thats the kind of player I would like to see them add. - jak521
