flyers are only 1 pt back of a playoff spot. with the loss of karlsson, in addition to their other injuries, ottawa is ripe to lose their position. if the flyers can get their act together on the road they'll be fine. and with hartnell and meszaros' return seemninly only a couple of weeks away, they could be in great shape. G and B need to get going - would be a huge boost. - hammarby31

He sees the foot specialist on friday. Depending on the amount of bone growth (healing) in the metatarsal, he could be cleared to return to skating...
I see Wednesday as a best case... not super realistic, but who knows |

not sure what that fella was getting at, but i'd say 15 mins and 10 goals is a little better than your typical 4th line center. also, the 3+ years left at $3.25mil knocks a lot of luster off, IMO.
there are other similar options that are likely a better value. |

I just hope the thing is healed to the point where re-injury is remote and they are not rushing him back.

I agree but I would think management would be wise enough not to gamble with that possibility, but you never know
It is really obvious how important he is for the team and how is absence is hurting Roos production. In hindsight, Jagr should have been brought back, maybe next year?? Hw will play another year. |

I cant believe we are still talking about this minor trade all these years later. At the time no one had a problem with and if they say they did they are lying. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess. - MBFlyerfan
I challenge that and I'm no liar but thank you for prejudging everyone who didn't like the trade at the time.

I wasn't a huge fan of the trade, either, but at the same time, I wasn't pissed off |

That's a shame to hear about Shelley. Sure, we didn't like him. Sure, he was viewed as a waste of space.
But that's never a good thing to read. Sucks to go out that way. |

I just hate to see that he's finding out his last NHL has likely already been played. Must feel anti-climactic. |

I suppose next you will tell me you knew he would be a 35 goal scorer. The point is that at the time it was a minor trade for both sides. Some people today act as if it almost destroyed the franchise. |

Bill Watters @RealBillWatters
Can Ryan Whitney be a short term fix for the SEN's as a replacement for Karlsson. He can do all things Erik does, just not quite as well.

Actually thought Schenn-Briere-Simmonds played pretty well together last year. When Hartnell comes back, might be time to put Voracek on the top line with Hartnell and G. I like Read and Coots together, you can plug in any other forward (Knuble, Talbot McGinn).
With the emergence of McGinn, there certainly is a lot of depth in the top 9 forwards. |

I wouldn't break up B.Schenn & Voracek right now, they're on fire and playing great along side one another.

For now, sure. Pretty obvious Jake was out of shape at the beginning of the year. I think we are seeing how he is able to generate space for his linemates.
Schenn certainly feels very comfortable going to the front of the net for his offense, which would allow Briere room on the ice. |
