So its looking more and more like Hartnell will be back in the next 1-2 weeks.. but as early as next wednesday. If that is the case... who sits out? Rusty? - jak521

It's possible both could be back next week. Meszaros skated today and Hartnell is going to see a specialist to get clearance to skate today |

I think he'll be in more frequently, but he won't be seeing a ton of time. My only hope is that McGinn stays up. |

I am by no means dismissing the charges or have an opinion of guilt. Just pointing out some facts. There are in fact bogus charges in the realm of sexual assault like the Duke Lacrosse Case. There are others where the victims are shamed enough to drop the charges which is despicable. Sometimes, but not often enough, justice is served. Just saying IMO truthful comments made by Lappy should be in anyway negatively because they speak truthfully about something ugly. - psuhockey
I get that. If I thought you were really supporting such behavior, I simply would have said as much. Perhaps I was taking a road too lightly.
As far as the name, can't change or would want to (unless it was UT in Austin) where I went to school because it employed some evil subhuman creatures who are deserving if prison justice.
I don't hate PSU. Were my son to get a scholarship there, academic- or hockey-based (with their hockey program getting a solid boost), I would be proud to have him attend. In fact, I think the punishments doled out were too severe as to damage departments that had nothing whatsoever to do with the scandal. The football program, and the football program only, should have been punished along with the higher-ups who knew what was going on. |

PSU hockey, and pretty much any member of the student body, had nothing to do with the scandal and you're right, you were making light of something that isn't remotely funny. |

In regards to Cousins, all I know is I don't know the facts. I don't want to assume anything one way or another. Not that I think the conversation here has been problematic.
As for PSU, the problem is that it's hard to punish the football program in a meaningful way without harming a lot of other folks out there. It's big money, for the school and for the surrounding area. I don't know what the right way to approach the situation would've been. All I know is, I hope the individuals who did the damage are punished properly, and otherwise I don't hold a grudge against the other facets of the organization that had nothing to do with it. Kind of an inoffensive stance, but it's the one I've taken. |

I knew of the Duke incident, which is why I will wait until the verdict is in re: Cousins. I'm no judge and my opinion matters very little.
As to PSU, I was alluding to the fact that the other sports were hurt by the NCAA ruling.
But, I've obviously gone too far, so I will drop the subject now. |

I gotcha on the NCAA ruling, I agree it's a shame other programs with no involvement will suffer. I just don't know how the football program can be punished without this side effect.
Probs best to drop it, I agree. |

Briere should be used more wisely by Lavy. Capitalize on his offensive capabilities.
The line of Fedotendo - Briere - Knuble was not productive.
Last year Danny played a few games with Talbot and seem to build chemistry.
Read - G - Simmonds
McGinn - Schenn - Voracek
Talbot - Briere - Couturier (Defensive zone faceoffs can be taken by wingers)
Wellwood - Fedotenko - Rinaldo/Knuble
or maybe
Schenn - Briere - Voracek

Even with Voracek's slow start, he is now leading the team in points. |

I like this alot but would think about Rinaldo as a main stay with Knuble and Rusty switching in and out of the lineup.

They're going to want to use both Couturier and Talbot to play against other teams top lines. and in key defensive zone start situations. Doesn't make a lot of sense to have Briereon a line with them in my opinion. |

In regards to Cousins, i'm almost positive he'll be found guilty.
The word "rape" is not used in the Canadian Criminal Code. Instead the law criminalizes "sexual assault". Sexual assault is defined as sexual contact with another person without that other person's consent. Consent is defined in section 273.1(1) as "the voluntary agreement of the complainant to engage in the sexual activity in question".
Thats not targeted at you, just wanted to throw it out there for the people crying about how canada hasn't labeled it rape. |

I feel like McGinn's role is important on that line as he gives Schenn & Voracek time and space. Once Hartnell is back I think Simmonds could move into that role but Briere has a different skill set.
