Gives them a bottom six guy in D'Amigo with upside - I'm thinking MacA 2.0, Gunnar gives them immediate help at D and is only 26. Blacker can get some playing time with the big club due to their defense core (or lack there of).

So basically two almost ready NHL players who are still considered "prospects" and a 3/4 Dman in Gunnar.

so you trade a depth a dman and 2 B-level prospects at beat, and you get a 22-year-old second-line centre and a second-round pick? Colorado would be getting hosed in that deal. you have to give up a bit more value when you're acquiring good players, not players/prospects that you can take or leave.

i don't think you could get a #1 centre with Gardiner as the centrepiece... unless you added Kadri and another prospect or first rounder.

They want a roster player and a "top" prospect, two B prospects that gives them depth is just as good. Gunnarsson will be on their top pairing D and will play with Johnson when he comes back.
Duchene and Stasy are the Avs top 6 C's.
They have no depth at defense currently but after this trade they will have a couple young top four dman and a 2nd/3rd line winger.
I'd change the 2nd to a 3rd and add a 5th/6th rounder, but this armchair GM cannot give up much more.
