He isn't.
Just because he plays with the #1 guy, it doesn't make him the #2 guy.
By your logic, Kostka is the Leafs' #2 guy. - Atomic Wedgie
I was wrong AW, he's 3rd on their depth chart. And really, what do I care what he is, he got us our #1 line LW. |

you have to look beyond the age, not every team holds young un realized potential as the Be all end all of trading as some leaf fans do. - Oilhab
Is that why we're now considering O'Reilly a sure-fire first-liner, just because he put up 50 points? |

There are about 15 teams in the same boat. Don't worry. - Leeman4Gilmour
The problem is some teams are (frank)ing hogging all these guys.
Pitt, Det, LA, Chi, Col, Wash, SJose, Bos, Van ....(frank)ers. |

Get Stastny, not O'Reilly. That's my vote. Costs less in a trade, and he's American - mykokes
Boom. This.
With all this attention on O'Reilly, maybe we can swoop on the misdirection and grab Stastny.
We get the #1C we need now, and the Avs clear up enough space to re-sign O'Reilly.
My only concern is that O'Reilly just doesn't want to sign in Colorado at any price. My gut feeling is that there are some serious problems in Colorado... Mickey Mouse stuff, as Gretz might say. |

I would guess you are considering O'rielly becuase he is available and it is an upgrade |

See all you care about is age.
Yes age is important, and Gardiner has that on his side, that is a big plus.
I don't give a poop about Diaz, but based on what Gardiner has done so far, he is not leaps and bounds better then Diaz is at this moment
Hopefully he will be and hopefully he will get that chance to show he is better then 30 points in one year and hopefully he stops riding the bus back to the A
But you are not getting O'rielly for Gardiner straight up no way no how - Oilhab
oh i agree with you on that point (bolded) 100%
what i dont agree with is saying Diaz's value is comparable to Gardiner's.. because.. its not.
I already said to pry O'Reilly out of Colorado is would have to be somthing like Gunnarson, Grabovski, and Colborne for O'Reilly and a second
colorado needs D help now.. the D man cannot be the prospect.. Grabo takes over for the missing C position, gunnar is no star but he is reliable, and then a decent prospect to work with in Colborne to eventually groom into the C position

Is this the same PK unit that had that fabulous 77% efficiency rate?
Norris. - slashtrash
And was actually scored on at a significantly lower rate than that while he was on the ice.
At a much younger age, he's way better than Diaz. Diaz sucks. |

I understand. If the game was the other way around I would be in the Engles thread talking about how Subban is a 9th pairing defensman at best. - markmark

I wouldn't even put him at #3.
But I'm with you on not caring, home-slice.
Bottom line: JVR's ceiling is waaaaay higher than Schenn's. |

10 times was an exageration, because i saw the list and didn't want to count how many times he actually has been, zomg it has only been 6 times sent to the A
So much better - Oilhab
Wow, and ummm, do you even understand what you're saying.
Time 1: finished university, assigned to the AHL
Time 2: assigned to AHL to qualify for AHL playoffs (quirky AHL Rule)
Time 3: assigned to AHL to play in playoffs because Leafs season was over
Time 4: LOCKOUT
Time 5: rehab assignment
Time 6: Not up to NHL speed, sent back down.
Seriously think before you type. |

No I'm thinking something else. stare at the centre of the screen so you can see the avatar in the corner of your eye, don't focus on it. |

Surely not stellar.
Still, it would take more than Gardinner to fetch O'Reilly. |

Absolutely. My impression is that Schenn's upside is basically what he always was here (and in Philly) minus the brain farts.
So, basically a #4 at his best. |

Shoulder, but not what you think.
Had to have some sun-damaged skin removed (official name: basal-cell carcinoma, but that makes it sound much scarier than it actually is).
So now I'm worried I'm going to have a kick-ass scar, and when people ask me if I was attacked by a wolf or got into a knife fight or fell into a 2,000 foot crevice while climbing Everest, I'm going to have to tell them no, I just didn't wear sunscreen as a child. |

Actually, he was just brought up for practice, while the AHL was going through it's all-star break, and was sent back down when it was done. |
