Hypothetically, if Serena Williams parents were 'cakers from small town Canada and had thrown her and Venus into hockey .....hmmmm. I'd curl up and cry if she was skating hard at me ...she's a beast. - The Law

Really? You don't think that there would be some sort of movement to mandate participation?
What if some team just never invited any women to its training camps? Wouldn't that be discriminatory? - Leeman4Gilmour
We kinda already did this whole thing with black athletes.
Why would there be a movement to mandate participation?
It's a private business.
Which is spread across international boundaries.
When Jim Abbot was pitching, did Major League Baseball mandate that all teams needed to have a physically challenged player on their rosters?
Hell, Bob Rae was Premier at the time, and they still didn't force the Blue Jays to do it. |

I'm not so sure. If the NHL came out and officially declared the league was open to women as well as men, and some GM publicly said, "We refuse to have any women on our roster because we don't believe they should be playing in the NHL," there wouldn't be any legal backlash?
Many discrimination lawsuits have been filed for less. - Leeman4Gilmour
Okay, no GM would ever openly discriminate or show such a strong prejudice towards any single group of people. It may happen subtly, but never in public. Anyways, like I said, you're not all of a sudden going to get a huge influx of women in the league. Only the absolute best - that are able to compete with NHL men - will be given the chance. |

I never understood the whole lingerie football thingy.
Don't get me wrong, I like women in lingerie.
But why would I want to watch them play the worst level of football on the planet? - Atomic Wedgie
If you think it's about the football, I don't know what to tell you. |
