His play is starting to drop off. Could be fatigue. Let's face it, currently this is a poorly constructed team.

Or it's a team with a bunch of young players who are only going to get better. Has some injuries that are affecting them. And it needs some veterans to step up.

well, either bryz being fatigued or not having a real puck mover are bigger issues...that and scoring. 1 step forward, 2 steps back it seems.

Seeing as how they threw tons of money at Weber, Suter, and Parise, I doubt this is the team Homer wanted going into this year. I think their big mistake was letting Jagr go, personally.

I can't second guess not bringing Jagr back. I was on board with letting him go. Not based on performance, he played pretty well, and was great in the room, the constant groin injuries was frustrating. The last thing this team needs is another guy who can't stay healthy.

Jagr's social security was just approved

11 pts in 13 games. Leads Dallas in points, assists, tied for the lead in goals.

Not bad for an octogenarian, eh?

I agree with the health issues, but I think he gave the team, especially the young players, a lot of confidence. They have been lacking it all season, but have been getting better. It seems that no one has the killer instinct that Jagr has for an entire game, Giroux included. I mean, watching these games and knowing most of the goal scoring is already over after the 1st period sucks.

Lets see what he does prior to tomorrow nights game. Cause everyone on the planet knows that a 6-8-1 team isn't putting Gervais, Foster, and Lolja on the ice in Montreal.
- PLindbergh31

Holmgren can just dig into that surplus of quality NHL defenseman that are just waiting around for a job. Or I'm sure that any number of NHL teams are willing to just give the Flyers a top defenseman cheaply to replace Timonen.

How about that Ottawa GM! Man he sucks! Should've had a replacement for Karlsson already!

I think homer swung for the fences the past two off seasons, most recently he swung and missed. Having missed this team is going to be living proof of said miss.

Bill Parcells said you are what your record says you are, and this teams record sucks. I'm not interested in excuses about youth, and injuries. It is what it is.

No room to fit him in at that asking price.

no use sounding like a broken record, but reviewing this thread is very revealing, because the construction started right here:

fascinating read over the next 10-12 pages. we have a lot of knowledgeable people here.

What? They offered Weber a ton of money, and tons to Suter and Parise, and you're telling me they couldn't fit him under the cap?

Ed Wang is in the mix now. All is right with the world. Any fools that listen to that super clown Didinger with that dead squirrel on his head are lost.

I think parcels would agree that you have to go through some bad seasons to get better tho. All his teams did. With the youth it's bound to happen. My problem this year is the veteran guys who poop the bed tho.

All three of those guys are younger players in their prime who could grow with the team. Jagr is old and injured often. I like the player but not worth taking up that cap hit.

Chipper Kelly. I'm thinking Lavi should call him for some advice so our offense can score more.
