Rinaldo isn't a borderline NHL player. He's in his 2nd Season as a regular. And McGinn looks like a solid NHL player, and isn't showing any signs that he doesn't belong. This is just another case of ignoring the facts, so you can criticize Holmgren. Same way that you omitted that Holmgren got veteran forward help when Hartnell went down. Just as Lamariello did - MJL
I like Rinaldo, lot more level headed than Carcillo just gets called for bogus penalties too much. Kid brings some oomph too |

Maybe not. 6 million on a player in decline, who has had some serious injuries the last few years is highly questionable imo. - PLindbergh31
Not privy to last week's conversations regarding the signing, my totally uneducated guess was Timmo was set to pack it in and head home after this season until Homer asked what it would take for him to reconsider.
And Homer bit. |

|
But yet at the same time you're panicking about having to play with out that same player in decline. - MJL
Timonen is still a good player and he's been a rock for this franchise. But he's no longer a 6 million dollar player at this stage of his career.
I'm far from panicked, my expectations for this team are very low, and that was prior to the injuries. Doesn't make it any less frustrating blowing two goal leads and continually being owned by a Devils team that plays far above their talent level. |

I'm starting to sour on Holmgren. He's done some good things, but he's starting to make a bunch of moves that make very little sense. |

I agree that Timonen is no longer a 6M player. It was a very frustrating loss. It was a chance against a Division opponent to get 2 points. This team is not a complete team and has some holes to fill. That's not news. They're playing very inconsistent Hockey and got off to a slow start. But yet with that and the injuries, they're still right in the thick of it.

I'm not going to list all the bad moves. Everyone knows that they are. No sense of rehashing them all. They have been beaten to death enough. |

You act like there has been a preponderance of bad moves. Too many to list huh? Name one or two moves that have really hurt this team? Not hard to do if there is so many. |

What the Frank happened. I didn't get to watch after the 1st period. The 1st period was a total domination.
I drink the Kool Aide from time to time, but this team has a ton of young players. they weren't cup bound so there are worse things than missing the playoffs and getting a high pick, if it ends that way. |

I was torn last year when the Phillies started playing well in the second half. Good to see they still had it if healthy, but blew a top 10 pick which would've been protected.
As for the Flyers, just don't make dumb deals like the Kubina deal chasing fools gold. Their time will be in a few years. |

Flyers have some holes to fill. Could be awhile before they become serious contenders. |

As long as we dump players with no future value for picks or younger players.
If the Flyers trade Briere(I realize a NMC) he cannot be bought out by his new team, right? |

His new team absolutely could buy him out. But why would they trade for him if they were going to do that?
