Kear20 I've been crying for O'Reilly. Isles have the pieces to make it happen. Trade Frans in a package. You see how well Casey is playing. - ses111
I wouldn't mind trading for O'reilly I want no part of paying him. |

Sounds good to me...the Islanders have 2/3 of a 1st line even though Boyes is doing well...so I would touch the chemistry. Trading Franz is fine with me but probably hard to move because he signed a long term deal...same with Okposo... - kear20
I think that's more of a selling point. Gives the trading team a sense of security and his salary is a very reasonable one. |

Sadly the Isles will not have to deal with paying him. I agree he is way off base if he is looking for 5 mill. I just love the idea of JT, O'Reilly, and Casey down the middle. |

Happy Saturday everyone...it's time to start today's discussion...This was in today's NY Post business section:
Wang’s got an Island-ers to sell you
By Josh Kosman
EXCLUSIVE - kear20
As I said, this is what I HEARD. Not rumors from fans. HEARD, from someone who works in the business, for another team- he may not know for certain any better than we do, but he has a lot better chance than most of us, IMO. The other thing I heard is that the Devils are b-r-o-k-e, and if they don't do something in terms of the ownership soon, they're going to be in REAL financial trouble. Of course, luckily for them, they could have a minor league team and still finish .500, because of the WAY they play, nine nights out of ten. |

last night for the first time this year - 2 man advantage, puck goes back into the Isles end, Streit skates hard back for the puck, rounds the net with it and charges back up ice. Urgency. Finally.

Streit is who he is...an offensive defenseman who's in his 30s. I don't know, really, what you guys expect out of him. I know one thing, the 20 guys in the locker room must think pretty highly of him to be named captain, so if we're talking 2 more years, I'm fine with it.
I'm also fine with moving him at the trading deadline if need be... |

I wouldn't trade Frans. Next year if you have JT, Strome, Frans, and CC. That could be pretty strong down the middle. |

agreed, but he is a better D-man then Streit, so if i had to choose,I would resign Viz
but I rather trade him at deadline |

I would trade Frans if it were for a player that's young and of the caliber of an O'Reilly, but that's about it. Frans is replaceable, but he fills multiple roles for this team, so if you're gonna trade him it has to be justifiable. Plus, as MB stated, his salary and contract are very desirable. |

Seriously, when your first d pairing on the PP is Streit and Viz you should have a top 5 PP. |

I hope not either, but in reality, i dont think this team is well equiped to make the playoffs, and not be like last year, and hold onto players for the sake of wishfull thinking of making it. If this team is in position for the last playoff spot, I would rather deal for future instead of trying for playoffs..... |

Totally agree.
It would be freaking nice (for once) to be content or just NEED one piece to get the 6th or 5th spot, though....*sigh* |

I've had that discussion with people. Either that, or they lost the lottery and didn't have Tavares. Imagine where this team would be. |
