I don't know if any of you have seen the newspapers, but the crime rate around the Barclays Center is the lowest its EVER been because the police presence there has skyrocketed. Believe me, that has been a poophole neighborhood for decades, too.
The crime rate about a mile west of the Coliseum is probably at least 5X higher.
Might not sound right to some of you, but it's the truth. Moving to Brooklyn is probably the best thing that could have happened to this franchise. End of discussion. Now....if Wang could sell the team...*fingers crossed* again...I'M BUYING MOTHER(frank)ERS!! - potvin05
My girlfriend works at LIU Brooklyn and got mugged a month ago one block from the Barclays center. She won't walk alone at night back to the train station anymore. This is happened at 7pm. |

I don't want to go back and forth with crime rates btn Brooklyn and Hempstead but if anyone has ever spent any time in Brooklyn they'd know there is no contest. There is NO WHERE on LI that compares to the shatty areas in Brooklyn. You could combine Wyndanch, Brentwood, Hempstead and condense them into one town and it wouldn't hold a candle. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't spent a decent amount of time there, simple as that. It's not going to stop me from seeing a game one way or the other though Garth Snow as our manager and Charles Wang as our owner will. I'm more frightened by that thought then getting mugged. |

I don't think it's a bad area but it didn't stop some bumhole from scaring the poop out of my future wife a block away. |

Two blocks away you can score a bag or get a five dollar BJ and thats just bcs the cops are around the arena. It's no Park Slope. Brooklyn is Brooklyn |

I think obviously the potential for more revenue is greater in Brooklyn but the isles won't take advantage of that situation if the team still (frank)ing sucks in 3 years. If they are a playoff team, they could play home games at an outdoor rink and people would flock. - Isles316
I agree it all depends on the product you put out, no doubt |

That is what it comes down too. If we have a good owner, arena, and manager we can turn a profit in Hempstead or Brooklyn. I don't fear them moving to BK in any way but I do fear more seasons with Snow and Wang. |

We're (frank)ed if that's the case but I think mr. Wang isn't as rich as everyone thinks and needs to sell this team. - Isles316
I think you are correct. I think he's going to sell the team too. It's one of those things where I could see both sides but in the end i think we are all going to be happy in the not to distant future |

Hey, the guy kept the team here, although the argument could be made that the reason they also left was partially his doing as well. Regardless, whats the point of owning a team that you either refuse to, or can't afford to put money into it so it can be run properly and given its best chance to succeed. How is this fun for him to own this team at this point? The last three or four years especially has been just a bare bones operation. That to me is why I think he is trying to sell. |

@MikeBlazowski: So rumors of a possible #isles sale, with a 75 mil $ payment looming, new building deal set in stone and Wang financial status faltering...
@MikeBlazowski: Seemingly that is, all point toward some good things in being rid of this horrid ownership #isles |

Seems to working for the Nets. When they were awesome in Jersey nobody outside of jersey cared. Now they are much more popular in Brooklyn and I'm willing to bet the Corporate money they are getting now is much more then they ever got in Jersey even when they went to the finals a couple of years. - Vukota
Vukota...you're 100% correct...the Nets are doing very well with corporations who want luxury suites. Also, there are 60 more luxury suites than the Nassau Coliseum as well as access to mass transit which is huge. When they were building the Metropolitan Life Stadium in the Meadowlands, the first thing they did was built a NJ Transit train line. I think if there was a LI Railroad stop near the Coliseum, there wouldn't be an attendance problem there is now. |
