Agree absolutely. I don't like the public comments by Snider and I'd understand being mad if I was Laviolette.

That said, I don't now if behind closed doors Lavy was asked to make changes due to the inability to add the kind of players they'd need to work his system.

But the ever changing approach that the team has used in team building is the biggest issue.

A team that play better defensively, will spend less time in it's own zone. A team that checks better will create turnovers and odd man rushes and transition opportunities. Defense creates offense.

When they drafted Couturier they had Pronger, Carle, Timonen, Mezaros and Coburn all in pretty good health.

I also think they wouldn't have traded Richards if they could somehow have known that Pronger would only play 13 more games. They did that because demoting Richards and making Pronger captain would have been an impossible situation.

3. Utilize Ryan to recruit Perry in FA.

And none of Briere, Schenn and Giroux are players with the two way potential that Couturier has. And have the potential to not only be a scorer in the League, but also a Selke level Center.

Understood. A big part of puck possession is also being solid on the dot. The Flyers routinely get massacred at the faceoff circle, maybe Murray would fix that too.
