At this point in his career. Subban is not a #1. He's not even the best defenseman on his team. There aren't that many true #1 defenseman in the League.

Therrien is a very good Coach who knows defense. Subban is utlra talented and very good with the puck. But he has not reached the status of a shut down defender, nor is he out of this World offensively, such as a player like Karlsson is to reach #1 status. He may get there in the future, but not yet.

If I was building a team, no. I'd take Subban for the future. But right now, Markov is a better overall player.

So you're just going to play fantasy Hockey and pick names out of a hat. None of them are current #1 defenseman. All young and very talented who may get there in the future. But not now.

He is a very good player with the puck. But he's not a true #1 yet in my opinion. maybe in the future, but I'm not convinced.

Agreed but teams with d in their system move them for centers like coots. That's my point throw in picks or prospects I don't care #1 d and goalie most important position Philly fans have been programmer to think centers are the most important. Their not.
