Yeah it's called watch the NHL. Anyone really surprised at McGinn. Guy skates he huge he hits he fights goes to the front of the net. Cousins same thing with more skill. Ghost... Anyone watCh wjc. Great skater passes shoots hockey smarts small but will grow. Sound familiar. Enstom kimmo gusty. Doesn't take a genius to figure out these players are coming in the next few years. - SMS4016
If those players are that good then why not package them for the #1 Dman and keep the young core up front? |

So Ghostibhere is guaranteed to be as good as Kimmo Timonen or Enstrom? I hope you're right. Everybody is pretty much surprised at McGinn's rise, except you I guess.

I understand his point but its just coming out crazy with all the trades and picks leaving. - stveshdy
His point seems to be that Bryz sucks, because that's the only consistent thing.
Rather than ride Bryz and develop a young goalie, like say Stolarz(whose rights they already own), trade a good young forward for one that's unproven and ride him and buy Bryzgalov out, because he's only average at best. |

Speaking of prospects, suddenly the pipeline isn't looking so bleak:
-Laughton
-Cousins (pending his legal issues)
-Ghost
-Leier (Bill mentioned on a thread he is in the mold of a E. Wellwood with better hands)
-Stolarz (think he made a great move leaving college)
Some interesting pieces. |

Well sick minds think alike....now we just have to figure out who else has been having these thoughts and we'll know the other sick bastard like you - Jsaquella
I'll be needing some light reading for bedtime, so I'm gonna let this accrue some more. If some other unlucky bastard thinks like you and I, maybe they'll leave a note in here (and I won't be shaking my head and scrolling and miss it).

He just wants a younger goalie to go with the core so that when those guys hit their peak Bryz isn't on his downside.
Will see what happens but Bryz isn't the problem IMO. |

With some very young players already on the team. One thing about this sport. If you don't like what's happening, just wait a little while. Some key moves and a weakness can suddenly become a strength.

I can't get in the intense debate because I believe Bryz is good enough to win a Cup, so I'm in the idiotic part of the fan base.

even if Bryz is in the waning years of his contract and they hit their prime, there is still plenty of time to get a replacement if they haven't groomed one by then. |

And apparently it's going to take longer then 5 years for those guys to hit their peak.

There's nothing to follow. You're weakening the team at a key position. And giving away top assets to do it. Follow?
You trade top assets to fill needs. Goaltending is not a need. - MJL
Hmmm I've said trade a cooter or read orchecky or briere or a combo in any way homer feels to get the like of a perry subban young goalie or the likes. Deal deal deal deal deal deal!!!! 2nd line wingers dime a dozen 2nd line or 3rd line center important but not as important as #1 winger or dman especially when we will have at least 5 55555555555555 damn centers next year. Yeah weaken a team that isn't winning cup anyti
E soon with average defense average goalie at chance for a perry and subban or the likeS. |

I don't know. I heard very little about him until this year. But I don't put much time into following prospects.

that's also totally omitting the fact that the Flyers will add any number of free agents over the years. I would be all in for buying out bryzgalov if there's a suitable replacement waiting in the wings. As it stands, Leighton and Boucher are next on the depth chart, and we've seen that movie. |

you are forgetting that another team has to be willing to accept your trade. In case you haven't noticed, the Flyers have had a hard time finding said trade partners. |

That's the whole problem. You have Couturier labeled as a 3rd line Center. He has the potential to be a 1st line Center on a lot of teams. That's what you apparently can't grasp. So let's trade him because we have 5 Centers.
You don't trade any of those players for a young Goalie when you already have a Goalie. Nor for a player that is going to be a UFA that you can't re-sign during the Season unless you make other moves. With the exception of Briere. But he has a NMC.
