His point seems to be that Bryz sucks, because that's the only consistent thing.

Rather than ride Bryz and develop a young goalie, like say Stolarz(whose rights they already own), trade a good young forward for one that's unproven and ride him and buy Bryzgalov out, because he's only average at best.

Speaking of prospects, suddenly the pipeline isn't looking so bleak:

-Cousins (pending his legal issues)
-Ghost
-Leier (Bill mentioned on a thread he is in the mold of a E. Wellwood with better hands)
-Stolarz (think he made a great move leaving college)

With some very young players already on the team. One thing about this sport. If you don't like what's happening, just wait a little while. Some key moves and a weakness can suddenly become a strength.

that's also totally omitting the fact that the Flyers will add any number of free agents over the years. I would be all in for buying out bryzgalov if there's a suitable replacement waiting in the wings. As it stands, Leighton and Boucher are next on the depth chart, and we've seen that movie.

you are forgetting that another team has to be willing to accept your trade. In case you haven't noticed, the Flyers have had a hard time finding said trade partners.

That's the whole problem. You have Couturier labeled as a 3rd line Center. He has the potential to be a 1st line Center on a lot of teams. That's what you apparently can't grasp. So let's trade him because we have 5 Centers.

You don't trade any of those players for a young Goalie when you already have a Goalie. Nor for a player that is going to be a UFA that you can't re-sign during the Season unless you make other moves. With the exception of Briere. But he has a NMC.
