Man, now I really want to watch the Escape From (city) movies. They really dumbed the franchise down for the sequel, though:

Of course they did... NYC = gritty & dirty; LA = glitzy, overblown, and stupid. |

Why not stick with the Goalie they have, who is playing well. And can easily play at that level for the next 5-7 years. How are they going to get Yandle? - MJL
Bryz is 32. Trade # 1"s or cooter get young goalie ie just ie can go after whoever But something like this yandle or subban for 2 #1picks and a 2nd. Whatever it takes. Trade cooter ( who everyone wants) for bernier or sneider or the like. Or do cooter for the dman and the picks for the goalie. Line up something like this. Hartsy-g- perry. Read-schenn-vorchek. Simmonds-Laughton- vet Rinaldo-talbot-vet. YAndle mez kimmo schenn gusty vet. Bernier in gOal somewhere along those lines. |

aside from the players already mentioned, guys like clarke macarthur, viktor stalberg, chris higgins and ryane clowe, while not sexy like perry or even horton, are very good hockey players that could contribute to the flyers' top-9, imo.
really curious to see what the market will be like for semin this summer, too. he's good. |

Honestly, that's awful. Bryzgalov has several good seasons left. 32 isn't old. Brodeur backstopped the Devils to the SCF last year at age 40. Tim Thomas won the Conn Smythe at age 39. No reason to think Bryz can't be a good goalie for this team for at least the next two or three years. |

If the Flyers buy out Briere in the summer, there will be no young forwards playing out of position. They can then afford a good winger to play with Giroux.
I'd keep Couturier over everyone you mention as the "young" core, except Giroux. If they add a guy like Perry or Horton, they can use one of the wingers on hand to swing a deal for a good puck moving defenseman. Trading Couturier for a Yandle or Bernier is a bad move, IMO. - Jsaquella
I like cooter too but if I can get someone like yandle or subban for him I do it today. We have Laughton to do Close to same thing. Plus would have yandle or subban or the like. Follow? |

Hey, I like Escape from LA. It's totally a sort-of parody, but it's a fan return to Snake Plissken. Definitely not a masterpiece, though. |

Laughton is nowhere near close to the same thing and doesn't have as high a ceiling as Couturier.
I'd love to have Yandle or Subban, but there's no way I'd trade Couturier for Yandle and I'd have to think long and hard about trading him for Subban. |

Dear Flyers
It's my birthday so obviously a win would be great.
But more then that I'd like to see you play like the Flyers that I love.
Play with some heart, emotion.
Don't ever quit. If you can do that I'll be happy, regardless of the results.
Signed,
Marc D

Yandle... really?
So give up a guy in coots who is a better defender and will likely end up putting up more points? Ill pass.
If I am trading Coots im doing it in a package to get an established #1 dman or a top end guy like Bogosian. Id have trouble even making that trade I think. |

I have been married for 3 months, and have managed to average a total gain of 5lbs a month. Some may call me a rookie, but that Calder Trophy worthy if you ask me.
Im back on the mend though. |

I would not make any of the trades that you suggest. All bad deals in my opinion. 32 is nothing for a Goalie. Bryzgalov can easily play, and play well into his late 30's. Bernier and Schnieder are unproven.

Briere staying in Philly is important for his family custody situation. He has custody, but his ex-wife has married a local and Briere accepting a trade likely means a custody battle. - Jsaquella
He probably saved a bundle on alimony when she remarried! |

B schenn for yandle yes. Cooter for yandle no way. Same thing for subban. I understand about Laughton. But we can't just pencil him into a top 9. Although I think he will turn into an outstanding 3rd line center. I want the flyers to concentrate on roo, schenn, cooter as the cornerstones to a dangerous 3 line attack. Identify te next young timonen or Pronger. Get him in the fold and go from there |

Well, I won't spoil the smack talking fun, but we're pretty darn far removed from the Cup ourselves. Sabres are still infinite times further off, but I'm saving the smack talk for when I've seen a parade.
Also, I may be run out of town for saying this, but I really don't like cheesesteaks. - BulliesPhan87
That's the first stop. My brother always says he's Convinced they don't sell exlax in Philly because of the cheesesteaks and I say when your fat a$$ eats 3 in one sitting what do you expect. Lol |
