i'll give you hartnell, but not read. i think jake is better.
- OrangeBlack27

Opposite for me. Your original statement was "second best all-around forward". Hartnell had a career year last year, but was not the best all around forward. He doesn't kill penalties and is not as good defensively, nor as good a skater (duh) as Read or Jake. Given that, don't see how you can say he's in the discussion for best all-around forward.

Read can make a claim to that title, especially this year. But after his fast start he tailed off on the scoring. So I'd give the nod to Jake over Read last season. Much closer call this season, especially since Jake has stepped up his game lately.

Still not Hartnell either way, and I love the guy.

Agreed. From what I see, McGinn brings most (if not all) of the best parts of Rinaldo's game, with none of the idiotic, brain-dead stuff that Rinaldo always seems to bring. He's fast, he hits, he can fight, he can score, and he doesn't seem to be a total idiot. Seems like he could play almost anywhere in the lineup and be effective.

I don't think Rinaldo is ever going to escape his bad rep, nor his own stupidity. So he seems destined to offset the good plays he makes with bonehead penalties or reputation calls. He'd be my first choice for a scratch to make room for McGinn.

- BringBack25

Seconded.

I know Knuble's not the same player that left Philly a few years ago, but I'd rather he stay in the lineup than Rinaldo. Rinaldo is ahead of Sestito and Shelley (yes, I know he's probably done for the season/year/his career) on my list - and that's about it.

Carter is very streaky in his overall game. No just goal scoring.

How is it not being used properly?

Do you mean Giroux is an exception to this rule?

- OrangeBlack27

No Giroux is not an exception. It's being used to state that the player shouldn't be signed to a long term deal because he'll be past his so called peak. But a player can continue to be well worth the deal. And continue to be a top player in the League, well into his 30's.

I think Jake is more dynamic and creates more offense than Read. He can also kill penalties although not quite like Read. Love that we get to argue about to good young players though.

The win yesterday was different from all the others because Claude Giroux looked like Claude Giroux and that, my friends, is a beautiful thing.

Very lucky to have Giroux, he is a special player..... From a flames fan

I didn't really like Tron: Legacy all that much although Olivia Wilde is a babe. Never say the original.

I don't see it as a gamble. What I see as the gamble is signing him to a shorter deal then losing him to Free Agency in 5 years.
- MJL

Disagree wholeheartedly. I don't think it's much of a gamble at all. Five years is a long time. Timonen, Coburn, and Briere are the only guys still on the team from five years ago.

Don't want to judge her or Sudeikis because I don't know them but I was surprised when I found out they were a couple.

When you compare Giroux to others of his skill level and experience, he most likely hasn't peaked yet.

Jeff Carter, while being asked how happy he is to become a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets, ponders whether his highlights will be welcomed in his new home.

But wouldnt Mcginn fill the role of Knuble more than Rinaldo? I would leave Zac on the fourth line and try Mcginn on the wing on the 3rd line.

It pushed all my buttons. Saw the original in the movie theater with kids Jsaquella would go to school with later, when I lived in Westmont. I felt it was a good sequel, especially considering the time in between.

I'd want any deal built on Couturier for O'Reilly to include a defenseman coming back to Philly. You add Erik Johnson coming back and it might work out. You get a "replacement" for Couturier and a good young defenseman.

It would depend highly on what other pieces were involved.

Also, got to remember, the Flyers asked about O'Reilly and the Avalanche countered with Couturier. Doesn't mean that it's the terms of the trade.

- Jsaquella

After reading the article, that's exaclty the name and scenario I thought of. If it helps out the D in a bigger trade, you have to consider it. That's the only way.

How many players in their 30's right now would you give a contract with an $8-$10 million cap hit?

It was definitely one of the better revamps that has been done lately.
