Exactly pit moved him cause they have letang. We can move schenn or coots cause were so heavy at center. - SMS4016
My point was about the premium teams will give up for puck moving defenseman, but your point is well taken |

Pittsburgh moved him because Dallas massively overpaid for him. They traded a guy who was a very good second pair puck mover for a 40 goal all star winger and a guy who is decent 2nd pair puck mover.
If they hadn't gotten a great return, they wouldn't have moved Goligoski. |

OEL is totally untouchable, sorry to break this to you.
Rundblad could be had, Yandle is playing very well now and not likely going anywhere either. We need a puck mover more than a stay at home, I would go for Rundblad and use him exclusively on the pp. I like Voracek on the right point and paired with Rundblad you would have two pretty smooth guys on the point. - flyerdude17
Sorry buddy can't mention anyone to trade for due to fact you know coots would be going other way. People on here wouldn't trade coots for Bobby Orr. |

Last I checked Pitt wins cups. So yeah again do you think we win a cup with this team. If so fine I'll shut up. Then we go with your plan. - SMS4016
I don't think they are going to win the Cup this year and I said that before. Do you not realize that this team is a work in progress? Just because they have the same players now, does NOT mean they aren't going to make moves later on. It also does NOT mean that the young players they have will not improve. Do you think Schenn and Couturier won't get any better than they are now? You say you want to build for the future but do you? Seems like you aren't thinking this through.
The Flyers might not make the playoffs this year. They might not make them next year, but if they keep building the right way, they'll be fine. Seems to me that you want an immediate chance to win the Cup as well as a chance for future success. That's a lot harder to do than you think. It's either patience or not.
As for Pittsburgh, would you be ok watching the team be absolute garbage for years until they finally got lucky in which they could draft a generational player like Crosby and another superstar like Malkin? Not to mention picking Letang in the 2nd round.
Seems like you want your cake and to eat it to. |

Yeah, the Pens traded their 3rd line center for a less skilled 3rd line center, a potential top 4 defenseman, and a top 10 draft pick. You take away the names, and Shero sounds like he should be in jail. - cap1681
considering the Pens knew Staal was going to walk after next year, they did quite well. Bastards! |

Actually, more than one person on here has said they'd be willing to move Couturier for OEL.
The trouble is, Phoenix probably won't agree to it. |

Couturier for Orr is as realistic as most of the moves you suggest. |

I think Couts + a first + prospect gets it done. |

yeah I would trade Coots for OEL, he could be the next Lidstrom, which is why Phoenix would never let him go |

For some reason, Shero is good at fleecing other GMs. Just look at the GoGo for Neal and Niskanen trade and the Whitney for Kunitz trade. |

Pittsburgh won a Cup. Singular. They also had a top 5 draft pick for five straight years, and managed to get Crosby and Malkin in two of those drafts. |
