It is hard, and if Rundblad was playing in, say Buffalo, he's in the top 6 at the NHL level.

That said, until he makes his mark a bit more, his trade value wont be as great.

- Jsaquella

I agree with your last sentence and that is why I would gamble on this guy now before he reaches his potential. He will come much cheaper now than he will when he is established. Nothing ventured and nothing gained, with him it could be a homerun or a strikeout but his skill set is undeniable.

I don't mind flipping a forward for a second tier type defenseman, because it's still dealing from a strength to address a weakness. But I don't want to move picks, if at all possible, especially 1st rounders.
- Jsaquella

I'd gamble on that. However it really depends who.

I dont think the Flyers can lose Simmonds or Hartnell up front. I think Read has tremendous value to this team. Voracek I would consider however a guy like Schenn or Coots I dont want them dealing for a guy unless he has that real # 1 potential. Runbland isnt that to me.

If the Flyers are able to land either perry or getzlaf in the summer, then yes by all means you make a move like that. Right now I would shy away from any moves. Unless they truly make the team better long term. Wait till summer....

If past trades are an indicator Simmonds, Cousins, Gus and a high draft pick for Yandle+
- nonpoint22

yikes, that's steep. I wouldn't do that.

I do think that Phoenix may well trade Yandle and then phase Rundblad into their mix.

I still come around for nearly every post Bill puts up, just don't comment much.

Besides, I'm still stuck in the Fire Stevens, Trade Carter Time Warp.

I hope Laviolette plays Foster tonight instead of Gervais. Bruno has been awful lately.

If they can buy out Briere and land Perry, it definitely frees up a path to use a winger to address the defense. I agree on Schenn & Couturier, I want a guy with top potential or who is near it now for one of them.

Rundblad is a very enticing guy. The skill set is very good. He's definitely more Yandle than OEL, IMO anyhow.

If the Flyers land Yandle.

Would anyone feel comfortable heading into next season with the current group and him? Or would we still be looking at improvemets.

This team needs more than a guy like Yandle imo. A better kind of player.

I could see that, but I dont think the Flyers are going to make that deal...Although I would love to see Yandle in orange and black

Non-Flyers: Anaheim resigned Viktor Fasth to a 2 year deal for $5.8mm.

I see people saying good deal on twitter about this and I have to wonder, is committing 2 years and $2.9mm a year to a 30 year old with 9 games of NHL experience that great a move?

Malkin and Letang are scheduled to be UFA's at the same time. Can the Penguins sign both of them? Hopefully not.

If they are looking at a guy like Rundblad I would instead look to a guy like Ellis. Depending on if Nashville's GM has time to step away from throwing darts at Holmgren's picture.

I think a lot will depend on whether the team can land Perry or Getzlaf. That is what I am looking at. Wouldnt be suprised to see both stay in Anaheim however. They look damn good.

I'm in the minority that thinks when the D is healthy it's petty solid. If you add Yandle and another you replace Gus and?

It depends on what we gave up to get him and what we can do in free agency this summer its kinda a loaded question
