The anti-Carle guys (which I'm one of) probably would find fault in Yandle's game. Defensively he's basically a Carle clone. Not physical at all, mistake prone at times... the difference Yandle's offensive ability is superior to Carle. - PLindbergh31
Carle is much better defensively then Yandle is. Yandle is far less physical then Carle is. Doesn't block shots like Carle does. And he turns the puck over more then Carle does. Yandle is superior offensively, including as a PP point man. |

I would. He's no Weber, but he's as good as Suter for a much lower cap cost. And he's only 26. - Feanor
Yandle is not as good as Suter. Suter is significantly superior to Yandle. |

Malkin and Letang are scheduled to be UFA's at the same time. Can the Penguins sign both of them? Hopefully not. - PLindbergh31
Malkin, Kunitz, Letang, Orpik, Niskanen. Then Fleury the year after. I would think Malkin would take the same deal Crosby got. which of course is the same deal Malkin got prior |

Now that Alfie is being talked about as available what young stud are we trading for him? |

shero is likely counting down the days until fleury's contract is up. no surprise if he's dispatched so they can use some of that coin to help retain the aforementioned players. |

ya yandle doesn't handle nearly the same defensive workload that suter does. not sure if he's ever been given the opportunity to do so, but he does not. |

they should buy out briere regardless, but perry is obviously very interesting provided the contract it would take to get him here wouldn't handcuff them with g/schenn/couturier extensions. even if they don't land perry or deem it to be cost-prohibitive, plenty of good top-9 wingers available this summer. - OrangeBlack27
Perry scares me. You looking at probably 8-9 mill for him... |

Not arguing that. Jake Voracek or Wayne Simmonds is a hell of an asset. - Jsaquella
Mcginns early play does make possibly moving Simmonds a little easier but would like to see Tye do it for a longer period of time. |

I'd love Perry but I would prefer Getzlaf.
Either way if you can set up to have a core of Giroux, Perry/Getzlaf and Coots I think you run with it and dont look back.
Fill in the other pieces over time. |

With G, Schenn, and Couts you dont need Getzlaf. He would be a fantastic player to have regardless, but the winger would be a better fit. Perry would be an instant fan favorite here in Philly. |

I wil put this another way that i similar to what you bring up.
Every guy on our back end currently is pretty damn steaky. Grossman aside.
I do not want to rely on Timonen as the rock of this d-group and I think its foolish to do so. Is Yandle going to be able to defensively carry the load if his defensive partner is having a bad game?
Hell no. I dont want to trade assests, for a guy like that. |

If they move a winger, during this season, I'd probably look to move Schenn to a wing. |

Not be be an bumhole, but every team could use a Getzlaf. He is far superior to Schenn/Coots currently and probably will be even if the kids continue to develop.

Can't wait for him to elbow G in the head during practice. And have octopi rain on his SUV in the FSZ parking lot. |

Then don't trade him for Alfie! He should bring back a younger Patrick Sharp like player!! |
