Funny story on the Richards trade.

I was doing work in the home of one of the "Flyers West" folks before the Flyers had acquired Bryzgalov. I spoke to this person about hockey, and he specifically asked me what I thought it'd take for the Kings to land Richards. I said Quick would be one guy I'd want, but also mentioned Schenn as a piece.

He said either way the Flyers would be getting a Helluva player.

At the time I was too thick to pick up on the signs.

Here is the deal with Yandle as far as I'm concerned. He will make the Flyers defense better in terms of puck transition offense, and on the PP. But at what cost. He's not a player that you're going to play in all situations. You're going to have to use him the right way. More offensive zone starts. Keeping him away as much as possible from other teams top lines. And you don't want him playing on the PK. So is that player worth the cost of whatever it takes to obtain him?

The only loser that day was Columbus. Howson is on the bread line partly because of it.

What your going to have to give up to get him you would want someone you could play in almost all situations..Again I like Yandle as a player and knew that he was more of an offensive minded dman. However if his defensive skills are that bad then stay away unless you can get him at a steal which you wont

They are similar players defensively. And Yandle is superior offensively. Yandle is the better player by a decent margin.
