What your going to have to give up to get him you would want someone you could play in almost all situations..Again I like Yandle as a player and knew that he was more of an offensive minded dman. However if his defensive skills are that bad then stay away unless you can get him at a steal which you wont - nonpoint22
I think Yandle is being sold short here. He plays well defensively and he isn't afraid to get physical, he engages along the boards and comes away with the puck and he's has a bit of an attitude in the defensive zone which is nice. Yes, he's not a big hitter because he's not as thick as he needs to be. I like his defensive game.
On the negative side, he doesn't always play in the right position but his quickness mostly covers for that. He's also one of those guys where if you leave him alone and let him skate he'll lapse on defense for offense. He can also get muscled off the puck by bigger forwards.
He certainly showed in last years playoffs that he can buckle down on some high end forwards while still bringing so jump from the back end. |

Those, the two Lindros events and the Islanders offsides are all time and place moments for me. I remember exactly where i was. |

richards/carter purging for me. had a feeling something crazy may happen that offseason, but those two being moved within an hour was insane. pretty sure i typed in all caps for like the next three days.

I wouldnt mind Yandle, but what the prices are for puck moving defensemen i would be in the boat on just drafting one and hope he develops... |

I like Yandle a lot. Many may disagree with your assessment but I'm with you. He is a solid choice if available. |

I recall both of them. I was at a computer class when Forsberg happened...class basically died that night.
For Richards and Carter I was getting my windshield replaced, and I sat in the truck as the guy did the work, because all I had was my XM radio. |

I'm in the same boat. I think Yandle would help the Flyers in some areas. And he certainly fits into the Flyers style of play. And he hasn't played on a team with the offensive talent that the Flyers have. So I coulld see his offensive numbers going up. But it depends on the cost. I'd have a hard time giving up Couturier, Schenn, or even Voracek for him. |

When Buffalo hired Ruff in 1997, Teemu Selanne was Anaheim's top scorer. When they fired Ruff today, Teemu Selanne was Anaheim's top scorer.

I was driving home from work when the Richards/Carter thing broke. I could only follow the news on twitter from my phone.
The move last year where I thought Holmgren completely lost his mind was the day they signed Jagr. I was in line at a South Jersey DMV to get my car inspected fully thinking that Paul Holmgren had completely lost his mind. |

Been told by solid Source that at 5pm At Presser Sabres will promote James Patrick to coach. Might only be interim thou.
I've hated James Patrick since he broke Ron Sutter's jaw. |

Yandle would kick Avery's ass right? - MJL
Doubtful.
I like what Yandle brings to the table. The Flyers have plenty of defensive defenseman. They need someone with some offensive talent on the backend IMO.

As I tweeted earlier, more and more folks are telling me Ron Rolston is the likely replacement. Nothing yet from the Sabres.

You weren't alone. I remember a guy on another forum losing his mind about what a waste of money Jagr would be. Same guy also said the Flyers offense would be terrible without Richards and carter.
