You kinda have changed my mind on Yandle...doesnt he have a higher cap hit then Carle....another Carle is the last thing I would want - nonpoint22
Yandle, a two-time All-Star who is in his prime, is a notch better player than Carle, so he deseves to make more. But the point is, Yandle is not at all a physical player and, while far from horrible defensively, is also far from a shutdown D either.
The trade price tag on him is astronomical and that's why it's probably not the right move for Philly. But would he help the team to score more goals? Absolutely. The Flyers are already fine in terms of hitting, defensive D. You need a mix on the blueline.

Exactly. They could use an offensive defenseman on this team.

Absolutely. As long as you know what you're getting with Yandle, and use him right. He'd help the Flyers. And he's put up some pretty good point totals from the back end in Phoenix. But he hasn't played on a team with as much offensive power as the Flyers have. So I could see his point totals rise here. It's all about the cost of what it would take to obtain him.
It makes the Flyers better offensively. But it doesn't help them defensively. He fits right into the Flyers style of play.

Thanks Bill, but is really worth the astronomical price tag that he would command... I personally dont think so
thank god ruff is gone. Can't stand him. - KGBflyers10
I doubt he stays unemployed long. Hate him or not, he is not a terrible coach. If he wants to work, he'll be snatched up for a role in some organIzation soon and I bet he is coaching again withing the next two seasons (assuming he doesn't want to just go do some fishing or something).
