I know that one is not true. Canes all the way in Calgary and Vancouver.

There are generally more anti-Canucks fans on there.

I will say this, the Keith hit was worse. That was a blatant cheap shot, and I never defended it. Nor did I defend Ladd's blind side hit that f'd up Kesler's nose in 2009 WCQF.

However, my problem with last night is that if it were a "hockey play" you lead with your glove, not your elbow. That's the difference, and that's why Hanssen will be suspended here in about 2 hours. You can't argue that. I saw it live, and I watched your video you posted. It's a lead with the foreman first, and that's where he'll have no out with Shannahan.

I also thought Weise's hit on Kruger in the 1st was CLEAN, and this fighting guys for giving clean hits really has to stop. Bickell got jumped vs Anaheim for the same thing, and it's taking the art of hitting out of the game, because now guys have to defend themselves. If guys want to retaliate, go level a guy....clean.

We'll see you boys in late April....

I've never seen anyone obsess over a player like you are over Hansen.
The fact is he has never been suspended or even fined to my knowledge. If he was as big of a monster as you declare him he would have already had multiple suspensions and fines like Carcillo. We get it, you think it was a very dirty play and that he should be banned from hockey. He'll get a fine or a 1-2 game suspension and everyone will move on.... except you.

Vancouver in 94: 7th seed. Calgary in 04: 6th seed. Edmonton in 06: 8th seed. People enjoy cheering for an underdog. That probably contributed.

I will say that VAN should actually be concerned..

I think Edmonton is a year or two away from being a big time contender for that division.

Minnesota is obviously making moves to win now along with a heavily stocked minor league system.

Colorado has some nice young parts.

Both those teams were huge underdog/cinderalla stories, those types of teams are always well liked. And give me a bunch of "idiots" that can actually win games over a bunch of nice guys that finish last year all day. I could care less about the stanley cup history, I wasn't even born when the Oilers and Leafs last won the cup. All I know is that we all watch this sport for entertainment as fans, and I'm definitely more entertained when I know that my team actually has a good chance of winning and all the games actually matter everytime the puck drops. I'll admit that I dislike the Hawks and Oilers, but the losers who's lives seem to revolve around the hate of professional sports team are pretty pathetic people and I really hope that they realize that this is just a game.

5 reasons the league hates the Nucks.

(1) - The diving - Kesler really needs to stop this. If he only did it on occasion it wouldn't be so bad. I think some other players in the league aren't too far behind him, like Dustin Brown for example, but Kesler is still the poster boy.

(2) - Riots - These weren't fans, just a few DB's that wanted attention. Black mark for the city, but this was not the action of fans. Funny, no one seems to mention SF Giants fans after their world series win but I guess that's the difference between winning and loosing. I know it was on a smaller scale, but still.

(3) Winning - Sure, most of the Canadian teams have been terrible the past few years. Being that the nucks are in the NW, many feel that they wouldn't place so high in the regular season if they were in another division. Not their fault but whatever.

(4) Sedins - Seen as being way too soft. Funny, Leaf fans were happy when they found out burkie was trying to sign them in TO a few year back but now they wouldn't want them on their team.

(5) Inferiority Complex - Some Vancouverites seem to think the east is trying to screw them. Most make this into a joke but some can be real a-holes about it. Relax guys, you live in paradise. How I miss Vancouver, Kits beach, the interior, Whistler, Tofino, etc, etc! Everyone should have an opportunity to visit the Pacific Northwest, it's one of the best places on earth.

Agreed, I fully expect Edmonton to be the favoruite in the Northwest in a couple of seasons, and they'll probably take over as the most hated team in Canada and people are gonna look for any excuses they can to hate them once they start winning(lottery finishes, Yakupov's celebrations, any dives or complaining or any quote that can be taken out of context, etc.). Either way, once they get some better balance and depth, that's going to be a really good team for years.

Minny should be good if their prospects develop well and they find some chemistry. Colorado has a great young forward group, they just need some solid d-men. Calgary is a mess.

Nope.

I watched most of the games in bars in Calgary in 06. Virtually the whole place was going for the Oilers. Didnt matter if it was Melrose, Cowboys, or where ever. We had a corporate event the one night at Cowboys. The Oil got a penalty in OT. I jokingly said to the group "no problem, Pisani is going to score short handed". Sure enough he did. The whole place erupted!

Calgary was definitely pro Oiler in 06. And Edmonton was pro Flames in 04. Your just pretending it wasnt to be a ....
