I think the Hossa a female dog is more about how Karma comes around. Keith put out Sedin until the playoffs and was not the same when he returned. His hit could be the singel most reason the Canucks did not get past the Kings in round one.

If a Canuck, and in this case, unintentional, does the same to the Hawks, then the Statement is correct. Hossa is the female dog in this case, the tool that Karma used to straighten things out.

That is just a guess....

- Beatle_john

You're kidding yourself with this unintentional garbage. It may not have been pre-meditated, but it was definitely intentional. Either that or Hansen's the dumbest mofo on planet earth trying to catch that puck with his elbow.

Better question is, anyone hear about Hossa?

I won't even attempt to finish reading all the blathering for 16+ pages by idiot fans on both sides of this. Bad arguers tend to cherry pick bad arguments to pick apart, and the people with legitimate respectable points and opinions get ignored.

Briefly, regarding the hit: the more I see it, the more I believe that it was an accident, but completely avoidable. In fact, if Hansen throws his hip at Hossa instead, we're all talking about what a beautiful hit he made. Instead, he makes a poor decision to reach (whether you believe that's what he was doing or not is irrelevant) too high with a bent arm toward a puck that is out of his reach and hits an unsuspecting player.

Now here's where I take issue with the author, the commenters, and Hansen himself. Instead of saying "this play is dirty" or "this play is clean" you should all be saying "this play was stupid, avoidable, and shouldn't have happened." He should have said "I made a dumb play, I hope he's okay." But this isn't what happened. Instead, people want to talk about how okay or not okay the play was, and Hansen himself shrugged it off and pretended he didn't know he made contact with the guy's head.

And that's what drives me insane about this Canuck team. Man up and take responsibility for what you've done. There's a reason that this team has a league-wide reputation for being bad guys, and it's because they go about their business thinking everything they do is okay, and with justification. No contrition, no admission, just "well it's okay because it was a hockey play" or "he got our guy first, so we were standing up for ourselves," or my favorite, "he's a scumbag, so it's okay to take cheap shots at him because he does it to us."

Change the culture and conduct of the team and (some of) its fans, and the league might change their perspective too. As a hockey player myself, I completely understand what it's like for some guys to get vilified for their play on the ice, but it's their conduct after the fact that defines the class of a player and a team.

You do realize that the cap is going down quite a bit next year right?

I do know that, I think Ballard and Booth are the odd men out replaced by Jensen and Corrdo ,I don't think Higgins gets resigned also

Trade for picks or package them at the draft.

I do want to see what Booth does after ten games or so.

Still not sure that will fit under the cap, I highly doubt that Ballard, Booth, Edler, Luongo and Higgins will all be let go within a few months. It's very hard to pull off that many moves and have that much turnover on a playoff roster.

I had to do a double take when it said your team was CHI. I respect evryone has right to an opinion, just nice when people are willing to debate it or offer thoughts on subjects, and willing to listen to counter points.

Why?

If Gillis is thinking of buying out Booth this summer, he should deal him asap and take what he can get.

What happens if Booth goes down to injury or sucks the bag for the next 10/15 games?

You can't have 5 Dmen at 4.5 to 5 mil playing mediocre hockey . Pick one or two to be moved.

Higgins will want about 2.5 next year . He will hit UFA

You can't have 9 .3 mil in cap space in two goalies . Chose one to go .Lack will be back up at 1 mil per.

Booth is playing for his spot. He needs to be very good because a kid name Jensen is eyeing his spot for next year at a quarter of the cost.

We learned from the Matt Cooke hit on Erik Karlsson that fans of injured superstars are often so desperate to ascribe blame that they’ll put aside all reason in order to do so. - PITB

Hansen apparently suspended one game for his hit on Hossa. The @NHL needs to at least stay consistent and not ignore ANY head hits #Canucks

NHL is such a fricken joke.

He deserves a game if they wan't no head contact, whether incidental or not.

Can't put yourself in a position to really hurt someone, even if you are devoid of intent.

As long as this is the standard, I'm fine with it

Then Bollig should have been suspended too . That was a fist to the head.

Marchand gave Daniel Sedin 6 fists to the head but seeing he is from Boston gets nothing.

Rome gets gets the longest suspension in playoff history for a late hit.

Hossa is the difference. He gets up and keeps playing, we all know nothing happens.

If that Torres hit never happens, there is a good chance he keeps playing after the Hansen collision.

So you do you think the penalty is called if someone other than Hossa gets grazed by Hansen's forearm via incidental contact and remains on his feet? If not, the head contact stuff is BS. Go take a look at your hockey helmet... It's probably covered in scratches. Incidental contact with the head happens countless times per game... This incident ONLY resulted in a penalty (let alone suspension) because Hossa is extremely vulnerable damaged goods. Dangerous precedent to set IMO. Maybe we should acquire Tim Connolly so he can draw penalties & suspensions on normal plays.

That is the point . Setaguchi hits a guy with his stick in the face and gets 8 000
