Jensen is a sniping playmaking power forward. His potential is sky high IMO. he'd already be producing in the NHL if he belonged to a lesser franchise... The only reason Kane got an early start.
- DrChristianTroy

He's proven nothing. His junior stats are average (and nowhere near kane's), he went to play in europe with minimal success (gotta question his loyalty to the NA game), and Kane is a proven 30 goal scorer in the NHL. You would add significantly to your offer (scheinder) to have a chance of winnipeg listening.

He's leading his SEL team in goals (tied for 7th in the league in 2-4 fewer games than everyone that's tied or in front of him). Nothing minimal about that success.

Great role player, no doubt but I think his best days are coming to an end. Would of loved to had him a couple of seasons ago.

OK, now you're being crazy. He's had one of the most successful JR seasons as a goal scorer in the last 20 years in the SEL...

Why don't you look up the only other players his age with the goal totals he has...

Naslund
Forsberg
Sedin
Hornqvist (ok maybe not so elite)

Seriously, do some homework before you slam a player...

Loyalty to the NA game.....you are just pulling poop out of your ass. Most of the comments about his game is that it is more like a North American player than a Euro.

He only went to Europe because he was unhappy in Oshawa, as were several of his teammates—which is why all of Oshawa's top players regressed last season...

I like Jensen potential as well, not sure I would trade him for Kane if I had to include to much more with him.

i was looking at his points. 61 in league. His goals scored is nice however. Maybe minimal success is the wrong term, but I would still consider him going to europe a deterrent.

I am glad he went to Europe to play against men instead of staying and playing with Oshawa were I think would have stunted his development. I think it will really help him next year and think he has a shot at making the Canucks (lower cap and ELC).

No offence, but that's stupid.

It was well known there was something wrong in Oshawa—most of their top players took significant drops in point totals.

The CHL is also not the best league to improve a player's defensive game. He chose to play against men, and he was too young to play in the AHL.

It's the best thing he could have done.

I agree. I'm basically proposing a Kane for Jensen trade... Ballard added for value & cap equality. He'd be a massive improvement over Hainsey and his ridiculous contract when that expires at the end of the season. As I said, I'm willing to throw in a pick and/or prospect to make the trade happen... But if the asking price was much more than that I'd rather keep Jensen.

It was the best option, since he couldn't play for the Wolves.

He's been benched for a game recently, and the 13th forward the last 2 games, though, since he got in an argument with AIK's goalie for letting in too many weak goals in a 6-0 loss...

Personally, I like the desire to win, and hold his teammates accountable.

so a 29th overall pick who hasn't played in the nhl has the same value as a 30 goal scorer in the nhl??

Are you talking about Andrew Shaws hit on Smith? Such a similar hit to Sendins hit on Keith right before Keith made the stupid choice to elbow him. Sedins hit on Keith was far worse then Shaws on Smith. Watch both videos. Sedin raises his shoulder to make impact with Keiths head. Shaw never changes his body to make sure he hits Smith in the head. Sedin clearly elevates his left shoulder to make sure there is contact with Keiths head. Its people like you who make everyone else who follows hockey hate your team.

Maybe they should have drafted Landeskog or Larsson, identify the needs of the team.

Probably not... Although the 30 goal scorer in question is disgruntled, being shopped, and is apparently a headcase.

I was joshing. Nuge has been trash, but just a rough patch. Not sure I'd want healthy scratch larsson over Nugey. Landeskog on the other hand, is a fair debate

im not trying to trash, but its a classic over-valueing (by some) of a prospect. the nucks will be lucky if jensen becomes a regular top 6 forward.

As per tsn analysis 16.7% of 29th overall picks become top 6 forwards or top 4 dman.

Bored...

To PHX: Booth, Higgins
To VAN: Vermette, Torres (I like Higgins, but personally wish we had kept Torres in the first place.)

To WPG: Jensen, Ballard
To VAN: E. Kane

To FLA: Luongo
To VAN: Gudbranson, Clemmensen (try again since they must be desperate for goaltending @ this point.)

(Add picks/prospects to either side of a trade to make it work...)

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Kane Schroeder Kesler
Raymond Vermette Kassian
Torres Lapierre Hansen

If we need a shut-down line, put Raymond Vermette Kesler together... Kane & Schroeder play with Kassian.

Hamhuis Bieksa
Edler Gudbranson
Garrison Tanev

Schneider
Clemmensen (if necessary, upgrade @ TDL - "rent" Khabibulin)

- DrChristianTroy

I don't think Ballard Jensen is enough for Kane

i agree with the potential headcase, but he is still only 21 years old. I don;'t think he is disgruntled or being shopped after signing a long term contract.
