I'm very happy with Ruff's firing but, as per usual, the Sabres only got it half right.

I have been a big time Ruff detractor. I think he has been extremely overrated but, I think having Darcy as gm really helped lead to Ruff's failure. The smart move would've been to fire both.

Baby steps, I guess. I mean, it took 16 years to fire Ruff, I shouldn't be greedy.

I keep hearing rumors that Rolston may be in line for the job. I'm sure he's a good coach and all but I'd really prefer to go outside of the organization. I don't hear a buzz about Rolston like I do with other up and coming coaches. It doesn't mean that there isn't one. It's not like I'm in any inner circles. If he gets the job, I'll support him. He just wouldn't be my 1st choice

I only understand the move if a trade is coming and they needed extra cap room.
