throw the baseball teams out because well there realistically is no salary cap due to luxury tax

basketball you just pretty much pay for 3 players and hope that the bench and other 2 players are good

look at hockey, you will see many teams that arent high in payroll still do well, and there are teams high in payroll that dont do well

The longest tenured part is the key. There was never going to be a good time. Sometimes you just have to cut the cord. They all had great things to say about Lindy. It had to be handled, and it was.

At some point it is the owner's responsibility to step in if things aren't working and nothing is being done to change it. We all know about the history that Darcy and Lindy have together. I'm sure Terry had to tell Darcy that his time was up and Ruff needed to be let go.

That being said, you mean to tell me you were ok with watching the disaster on ice for the rest of the season? I know I wasn't.

What do you keep going on about? You say you're alright with the move but you keep questioning it. What does him being the longest active coach in NHL history have to do with anything? He was coach for 15 seasons. There were 13 different Stanley Cup winning coaches. 7 of them were fired the next season. He had basically 3 really good shots to get us the Cup and he failed.

That's because in hockey, the payrolls, even at the top, before the cap, aren't that high compared to the other sports. It's really apples to oranges.
