If you stopped being negative I would walk outside and make sure the sky was still blue. - Buffalo--Sabres
That's on you if you want to walk outside, I say what I feel if people don't like it, oh well. It's all about opinions on this site and that is all, but i've been saying the same thing since 07 when I started posting here and we are no farther ahead now then we were then. |

You are negative about everything . Lighten up for a few minutes . A move was made that we all were hoping for . Why do you have to find something negative in that . Relax . - Maximum Signal

I'd give up anybody for the right piece back. But I also don't want to see guys moved just for the sake of moving them either. - HonkFortheGoose
I have said many times for a long time now. These core guys have won nothing and all options to make this team better nor or in the future should be explored.

I think it's a huge mistake to fire the head coach Ruff instead of the GM Regier in this lockout-shortened season. There was only a one-week training camp. The GM presumably makes the decisions about which players are signed, traded, etc. -- and we all know how miserable some of the decisions have been. Danny Briere, where are you?
And, most importantly, there has to be a great replacement head coach all ready to go, immediately. Except there is no great replacement in hand. Just like the Bills, the Sabres don't seem capable of recruiting top coaching talent. Ruff actually was that. Just look at his winning career coaching record. - BaltimoreSabresFan
step one to getting Regier fired was firing Lindy. True story |

He cant go to Rochester. He cant go back to Juniors.
Hes here to stay. Got to play him.
Theres a spot for Grigo, it just means that someone else sits. If I was the coach? Hecht or Scott is in the Pressbox. - theblueandgold
he can go back to juniors. not rochester.
the only deadline for the 5 games was his contract. they have til the trade deadline to send him back to junior |

expectations are not high in nashville. that team was able to get good by being bad. - joshs
doesnt change the fact that they competed and made the playoffs pretty consistently, in a tough division (toughest in west and debatable with the atlantic) with a low payroll
and the yotes compete at the floor
and its not like either made it last year or last couple years as a fluke |

Ruff was never a head coach of any team in any league.
He went from being an assistant coach for 4 years to being named our coach. Not sure where the proven track record came from.
I can say with confidence that Rolston has a proven track record. Hes had success at every level but the NHL so far. |

Reading this made my head hurt.
So you're saying they should have been interviewing people so that when they wanted to fire Ruff they had a replacement ready? That logic is very very flawed. |

so with porter coming up there is no spot on this team for grigorenko. just send him back already and chalk it up as a mistake. no point in having him stay on the bench - robz228
he cant go back. i dont mind him up praticing with the team, working with our strength and conditioning coach, working with our skating coach and learning how to be a pro. it beats him dominating teenagers by playing 1 dimensional hockey in the Q. his main problem is that he is terrible in puck battles and ownership of the puck. being in the CHL wont help him out with that. with that being said this was a waste of a year on his ELC. |

And the obvious Ruff restructuring of his contract

like i really dont see a point of having him be 4th line center. so the only real option is moving ennis back to wing
vanek - hodgson - pom
ennis - grig - stafford
foligno - porter - ott
scott - hecht - kaleta
i dunno |

What I meant by "cant go back" is that its not plausible for us to waste a year of his contract on an NHL shortened season of which he only played less than 15 games. |
