i would say scott dominated that entire fight but orr won. i gurantee that orr is more scared to have a rematch with scott than scott is. - joshs
I wouldnt want to fight Scott. Teams done mess with us anymore and I guarentee hes one of the reasons why.Like Ray said hes a stand up fighter most guys dont fight like that anymore.Kaleta s tough as nails as well altho not a polished fighter maybe he will be. |

Ruff goes to the Rangers. Buffalo gets Torts. That would be fun, at least. - buffalofan19
Yea it would be but Torts is as much of a hard a$$ as Ruff. |

Top lines also win you Cups.
The Sabres' problem does not lie in their 4th line.
The Ducks had Getz, Selanne, Perry, Kunitz, Pronger and Scott Neidermayer.
This Sabres team has none of that, especially on D. - Powerslave
Did you really watch much of that Cup finals? Or any of the Ducks games in the playoffs in general? That line was just fantastic. I can't even explain how important it was to that team.
You could pick players from every team that's won the Cup and say, "Such and Such team doesn't have (name winning teams top line here). That's the oldest and easiest excuse you could use. |

The Sabres' problem is giving guys like Gerbe and Hecht 18 minutes a night - Powerslave
i agree. i like the move with porter because it gives us more options and lets face it mccormick made himself expendable. |

Absolutely, I've wanted Porter on this roster at the start of the season, solid two way player. He could easily do what Hecht is doing now and then some. |

Me too. I think the A should be taken off of Stafford and given to him. I think he's earned it. |

I watch as much hockey as anyone on here.
It could have just as easily been Scott, Kaleta and McCormick on that Cup team. Playoff hockey tends to over-dramatize players' effects on teams' success.
Who the hell ever heard of Dwight King before the Kings won it?
And who the hell is paying attention to Dwight King now?
No one.
Teams get hot, a couple players not normally known for contributions have a couple games where they look like world beaters, and all the sudden they're the greatest thing since sliced bread |

Problem with Cody was his salary. He makes 900k like he should and he's still here. |

Like I said the coach was part of the problem. Today they did something to fix that. This team as of right now is still a mess. I'm not buying anything if they go on a 4 or 5 game run either.

#Sabres also interested in #Oilers Gagner. Price would be VERY high right now, hearing Brennan and McNabb are part of the talks.
Stafford, McNabb for Gagne and Smid, IMO. - SABRES 89
Stafford and Brennan would be better imo |

Not really. You need guys who can play hockey in the playoffs. Hence why the Rags traded for him and he sat in the playoffs. |

It pretty much was because everyone on that ducks team fought that year except selanne and McDonald. They beat the piss out of everyone and beat them on the scoreboard as well. Detroit and Carolina are the only recent teams to win without tough guys on the roster; I don't get all the hate against guys like Scott. |

Thornton is a tough guy but he also had 20 points during the regular season the year Boston won the cup.
If given the choice of Thornton or Scott on my team, I take Thornton every time no questions asked. I'd rather have McCorrmick on the team over Scott but this was a salary/roster move IMO. |
