Who Patrick Roy? - JCSabs06
Brian Rolston. |

Can't remember if the timing is right, but I was there for the Goo Goo Dolls, but became a HUGE BNL fan. I've seen barenaked ladies 20+ times in about a 4 year span I think when I was back home.
Those were the days.... - stashu
I've seen the BNL maybe 5 times overall. I saw the Goo Goo Dolls at the Continental when they were a punk band and maybe 4 - 5 other times. My favorite local band was The Great Train Robbery. I don't understand how they never made it at least regionally big. |

Oh, we should get Roy in here as a coach, if only for 2 reasons.
#1 He will hopefully put Grigorenko on the 1st line.
#2 He will teach Ryan Miller to play goalie. jkjk |

Gagne is a good player and I wouldn't mind if he came here but, still think we need to get bigger up the middle. |

You believe poop like this is being sent Lindy's sons way?
Classless SOB'S!
Brian Ruff @BRuffles22
“@EvanEnsminger: @BRuffles22 your dads a gypsy have fun being poor. Btw buffalo always hated YOU not your dad” thanks man.Make my day worse - TerryPegs
This is totally classless.....Lindy would die for this team. Unfortunately, there is always a point in time where change needs to come. People need to respect the past and move one with respect. |

Rolston should just convince Darcy to bring up his AHL squad get rid of our bottom 4 forwards and bottom 2 D. I'm thinking we keep Vanek - Hodg - Pom, Ennis - Grigo - Foligno, Ott and maybe Kaleta because some people allege that he is our best PKer. Keep Ehrhoff, Myers, Sekera, Sulzer, maybe Weber. |

Isn't that "hockey insiderrr" some 19 year old from Montreal?
I don't take what he says very seriously
I can't see Edmonton trading Gagner unless they get a center back in the deal...
And I don't see him as an upgrade on Ennis anyways
One thing I'm hoping happens w this coaching change is we start to see Grigorenko play with better talent on his line... Or at least get some PP time w some skilled players
Sit Scott or Gerbe or even Hecht, let the kid play |

Yea that is poopty, comes with living out in Clarence, while most of the community is top notch class, it does produce some small minded, privileged brats. I've heard from a couple people that are close to him (Ruff's son) that he had said on occasion that he wished his father would quit just so the kids at school would quit giving him poop about it. |

Nobody pays attention to him, Scott needs to be in the lineup, sit Gerbe enough is enough with him. |

the players seem genuinely shaken - Powerslave
agreed. doesnt really seem to coincide with the "ruff lost the room and everyone hates his system" mantra a lot of people were preaching.
regardless i'm looking forward too the future. a change was certainly needed. if this is the kick in the pants the team needs than thats awesome. otherwise i dont expect much more from this season than we've already seen. |

Id be fine if they both sat
It's too bad gerbe isn't 6inches taller, he's got skill & a ton of heart but he's just too small to be effective consistently
Besides a fight here n there, Scott and the 4min of icetime he gets are freaking useless...
I wish we could've traded McCormick + a defenseman for a center that could play on the 4th line n actually win some faceoffs
I gotta believe that at this point Regehr would waive his NTC to go just about anywhere... Maybe Rolston can get Leopold straightened out enough to trade him too
Might as well at least get McNabb up here since we've seen him be productive for us last year |

Can I share a story?
My son was in math class at Clarence high school, and the teacher was asking students what ideas they had in order to remember the HLPL formula (something to do with geometry).
Well, one of the spoiled little brats in the front of the class blurts out : Hey Lindy, please leave.
Well, Maddy Ruff was in the back of the class.
Talk about classless. My boy felt very bad for Madeline. |

That's Fd up...
Ruff is a class act
I hope they bring him back in the offseason as a consultant or some Fromm office position
Even guys like Barnaby who hated playing for him admit how smart a hockey guy he is and what a good coach he was
The time def came for a change, but itd be nice to see him associated with the team again in some way |

Once the coaching fever is out of him I'd expect him to become part of the franchise again. My guess is in about 10yrs or so.

I gotta say IMO he is one heck of a PKer....I've seen few willing to throw themselves in front of shots with reckless abandon the way he does
Edit.....you know Jochen isn't doing that |

That could make sense too...
The one thing I don't like about the coaching change is that I think it takes pressure off Darcy to make player moves, at least for a little while
And we def need some more changes |

Agree 100% I am more optimistic about his future than the organization's at the moment. I worry that the powers that be feel that this is essentially a talented group with alot of upside and they just need a new voice in the room. Lindy will be fine. I see him coaching in Canada in 2013-2014. Just pray to God not Philadelphia. |

How many times has he fought this year?
At least McCormick could actually skate too... I know he want the heavyweight Scott was, but I think Scott is pretty useless when he isn't fighting
And if he's only gonna fight once every 5 games then I would just rather have Simone in the line-up that can actually play |

I'm truly impressed with the passion level of the Sabres fans. I'm not sure there is a more loyal, passionate, fanbase in the league.
A large reason why Lindy Ruff was fired was because the fans basically had enough and wanted change. In most other markets the organization would have waited until the end of the season to fire such a long standing coach. Not too many organizations base their decisions on what their fanbase wants.
While it hasn't been a great start to the season for the Sabres it has been interesting and entertaining to watch the level of frustration of the fans and media who cover this team boil over and force management's hands.
Sabre fans should now harness that passion to bring down NHL salaries so it's more affordable for the average joe to attend a hockey game. You would then be considered revolutionaries! - PixelDoode
