If you could only keep 2 of the 3. Who would you keep? - twistedwrister9
Vanek and Pommer.
Trade Miller on deadline day and you might get a bidding war. Again though what 8 teams does he refuse to not waive him NMC for or does he waive to get the hell outta dodge? Does Darcy have the stones to trade him in Conference? |

Yea....I'd deal Miller as well if I had to pick one. |

Stafford is Stafford. He'll score in bunches and the disappear. I guess I'd rather deal with Stafford and his issues then David Jones at the same price. But I would look to move him. Problem is his value is low now. - dadeadhead
yeah. things just got interesting now that lindy is gone. i doubt much will change but it could. |

Vanek/Cody/Pomer
Foligno/Ennis/Grigs
Ott/Porter/Stafford
Gerbe/Hecht/Kaleta.
Is how I'd start them tomorrow night, then go from there. - dadeadhead
Though I would like those lines, especially compared to what we saw last game, I think the lines should look like this: (Not far off your lines)
Vanek - Hodgson - Pominville
Foligno - Ennis - Ott
Gerbe - Grigorenko - Stafford
Hecht - Porter - Kaleta
Reasoning:
Ott has played better than anyone in the bottom six right now and has more goals than Stafford. I think he has earned a couple games up on the second, especially since Stafford has been playing like doo doo.
Grigorenko is supposed to be our center of the future, lets develop him as a center, and put him with people who play some offense. I realize it is OK to put a center on the wing, but I think that he needs to stay at center. Playing with Gerbe and Stafford is better than playing with Hecht or Kaleta. Also I think it is a tad insulting for Grigorenko to vault over Ott since he has played better than almost anyone else on the team in the last few games.
I like Rolston as interim... if he really impresses I could even see him as the coach here for the next few years. That being said I still think we need to make a trade or two even if they aren't "blow up the team" moves. |

I guess it depends on the return for each really.
I didn't see Ruff getting das boot really, so I was of the opinion that Vanek and Miller would be moved. Now I'm not so sure. I think you could see Pommer moved especially if Ruff goes to some place like Columbus. |

I would keep Miller and Vanek. I think that Pominville holds a lot of value for other teams and would also bring back a nice return.
Trading Miller would suck because we wouldn't get a starting goalie that can play as many games as miller or is as good as Miller. Reason why this would be a huge problem is because our backup is an absolute sieve. |

I also would see that as another major change in direction in this team. Cut the coach, trade the captain. Players would really take that seriously (at least I hope). |

Just gonna guess that Rolston is going to put Grigs on the wing to get him going. He did the same thing for Girgs in Rochester. Center is a tough position for and 18 yr old to come in and play especially on the 3rd line which is traditionally a checking/defensive responsible line. |

The question to ask is of the 3, which would you re-sign after next year? I wouldn't be too keen on giving a 32-year-old Jason Pominville $6 million per. I also wouldn't give a 34-year-old Ryan Miller $7 million per. I'd be open to trading either/both of them. |

Yeah... I see what your saying but I still don't want to break that up. Believe it or not I could see putting Ott on the second would really help that line produce more. Stafford isn't hard enough on the puck, it would open it up a lot for Ennis and Foligno. I just see Ott's intensity really improving them in many ways, plus he has scored a few goals and created turnovers with his hits. |

While I do like Ryan Johansen, he still needs work. His NHL play is something left to be desired. It sucks that Mason is an absolute train wreck. He is still young but I feel I'd like to get a tad more than Johansen and Mason for Pommer. I think Pommer would be a nice fit with Brassard. |

Or a 30 yr old Vanek 7 mil again.
They sign all three of them to deals like that we are then the Eastern Conference version of the Calgary Flames. |

Of the 3 I'd take Vanek at $7 million at 30 than the other 2 who will be older and nearly as expensive. |

They would have to send something extra our way in that case, ROR is still pretty much unproven. He is good, but not that good, or a wildcard. |

Him on a wing with Duchene would look good but they just signed PA Parenteau and he's on Duchene's rw and looks good.
I did mention last year I thought Pommer on Colorado would be a good move for both teams. |

Vanek at 30 making 7 mil had Jerome Iginla written all over it. I do like Vanek and think he's coming into his own but a 7mil deal scares me do to guys tend to slow down at 32/33 and he isn't the quickest guy as it is. |
