COUNTER PROPOSAL
NYI
Phil Kessel, Matt Frattin, Nazem Kadri
TOR
Keith Aucoin...and Colin McDonald if you want to play hardball.
Thoughts?
Edit -- wait...is Frattin still hurt? If so, deal's off. - UIF
Come on my deal wasnt that one sided was it? lol
Nino wants out and it seems like you guys need some D. Apart from the obvious choices (Phaneuf, Gards, Rielly), which would you want? Komisarek is from NYI, the guy wants to come home. What if we ate some salary for you? |

I know you weren't trolling so I'm genuinely not trying to be a d!ck here, but Nino for Komisarek would be one of the worst trades in history. For us. The Islanders. That's saying a lot. |

Since when does a player want out when their agent wants to get paid?
And that players agent does all the talking and the player says nothing.. |

If the agent really did overstep his bounds with the comments he made, and they were misrepresenting their client (Nino), then shouldnt they have been fired? I think Nino is just embarassed at this point because it didnt work and hes still stuck in the AHL. |

I think if you spend 55 games with an NHL team making a nice salary and then suddenly are sitting on a bus going to AHL games, it doesn't take long for a top 5 pick to lock at other players that were picked around him and say 'wtf'?
It probably made it all the easier when realizing who drafted him... |

I'm not having a discussion with you. I've asked you to leave politely....twice, and you're choosing to engage me in a conversation that will just make things worse in the end. Take a break and go somewhere else for a bit (perhaps a Habs thread) and that should do the trick.
BTW, trolling is forbidden, yes. |

Im not a NYI fan, so I dont follow your organization that closely, but I find it strange that he wasnt even invited to training camp when he was putting up solid numbers in the AHL through the lockout. Its one thing to not make the team, but not to get invited to camp? I would personally feel slighted. Does anyone know why this happened? |

Agreed. Especially when they're filling roster spots with waiver wire pickups. I get his frustration, but I think he did it a little fast. If it were this time next year and the same thing happened, then he'd have every right. |

he wasnt making th team, he knew that, the team knew that, the fans knew that.. the plan was for him to play in the A this season... why would you invite him to a shortened camp to take up time from players we are trying to fit in our lineup?

I don't think it was ever mentioned he'd spend the ENTIRE season at the Bridge. I think some said he could use a season down there but I do recall a few outlets saying he'd 'start' the season down there. Based on his reaction, it didn't seem to me like there was real good communication going on between either party until his agent ran his mouth.
I still think the Isles screw up wasn't bringing him up to fast but rather playing him 6 minutes a night on a line with Reasoner. I understand that they wanted to teach him the defensive game more, but the kid was an bluechip offensive talent who was slated to be on the top line until he pulled a groin in training camp. Suddenly he comes back and is getting garbage time with garbage players. There's no way he was going to build confidence in that regard. |

Keeping in mind that they never really explain much around here, and we don't have the media you guys do that press for answers, my guess is that it was only a weeklong camp, and the decision had already been made that Nino and Donovan (top D prospect in Bridgeport who also was not invited) would get first-line/first-pairing minutes in BPort this year rather than limited time with the Isles, so they were left down there to continue playing games rather than called to a brief, makeshift camp. Snow claims he had this discussion with Nino after the agent raised concerns but before the story was leaked. The only players invited from BPort were ones that were already penciled into the NHL lineup, like Ullstrom and Cizikas, and some older AHL lifers. |

Let's face it, Nino really has nothing to be worried about. He'll obviously get his chance since our top-six forward options are...well, there aren't many top-six forward options. If anyone should be asking, "What the heck?" it's Donovan. He was set to compete for a spot and they went out and signed three young D off of waivers at the 11th hour that pushed him three spots down on the depth chart...and then one was immediately signed to a three-year contract. |

A bit steep, 2 NHL ready players. Im cool with parting with Franson, hes a decent puck mover, and patient with a good shot from the point. As for Bozak, we are already pretty thin up the middle and losing him would hurt. Any trade involving Grabs, Bozak, or Kadri would have to involve a center coming back our way. |

I like Riellys potential more then Ninos. Puck moving D with elite potential dont come around very often. |
