Peter Tessier: The Case for Ryan O'Reilly in Winnipeg It's time to take stock of what the Winnipeg Jets are and should Ryan O'Reilly be in their plans.

It'd be a good fit, but do you have the guys to get it done???

Here's the thing, there's only one asking price presented and we don't know if that is even true. "A roster player and top prospect".

There was another report, can't find it, that said GMs were to prepare offers but no one knew what the avs were looking for. So there were really perplexed and not forthcoming.

That may have come from Elliote Friedman

With talks of a possible realignment and the Jets in the west, I'm not convinced moving ROR to what could turn into a Conference rival is in the Avs best interest. Both organizations are looking to make the playoffs which will naturally make them enemies in the future if realignment takes place.

But it all depends on the offer.

I heard rumblings of Bogosian and Scheifele would head to Colorado! Not sure who else would be headed to Winn!

No doubt the Avs well be asking alot from teams in the East, i can only imagine what they well ask a team from the West!

If we're going to spend 5M+ on a player i truly hope it's not going to be ROR. Not sure how he makes this team better. Everyone keeps talking about intangibles but the guys with "intangibles" put the team first and regardless of what you think of this situation, it's clear he's put himself above the team. He's a less experienced, less proven, Andrew Ladd (minus the position) and he won't make this team significantly better. Top line talent or a new coach....that's what the team needs.

you're done with joel and you're happy with crawford? with toews kane hossa and sharp, youve got more top line talent than most in the league.. I'm a big bolland and shaw fan too. i like watching blackhawk games, great group of forwards, with one of the best complimenting dmen in the league, for an offensive minded group.

If the price is supposed to be that level, I would suggest Colorado better start working harder to sign him.

I think he just had a good yr playing with some guys who made him look better. Even he knows it, that is why he wants the contract now rather than giving the AVs a better sample of his ability to keep it up.

The Avs must suspect ROR is just trying to sucker them, as they won't sign him. Now DEN is trying to play the same game with the rest of the league and find a sucker who will overpay to get him.

ROR has never broken 60 points.

Not only do you have to give the farm to get this guy now you have to sign him for more then Kane.

There is no way the jets traded for this guy

The Avs are asking for so much because they dont want to trade him, if they get a deal that well blow them away they well jump on it. But other then that they well make him sit until he signs, i dont agree with how this is goin there just pissing the fans off.

No chance they move the Boggie man...

And why pay 5+ million for ROR...when what really makes sense is throwing caution out the door to go after BOTH Getzlaf and Perry this July!!!

We have the room...and we have an owner that has the cash.

This move (where we only give up money) makes wayyyy more sense.

This move makes us an instant contender.

This move gives us an awesome first, second and third line.

He won't get more than Kane. He will get a lot but not that much.

Who has more upside: Little, Burmistrov or ROR?

sorry... speaking about the jets... my loyalties are all screwed up since they came back. The jets lack top line talent, and if that's the type of team they're going to be then we need a coach that can do more with less... look at the canadiens with therrien.

You are not the first person to make that statement about coaching.

I like Noel as a coach but his style doesn't seem to jive with the makeup of the team. a coupl ehigh draft picks and few years development and who knows, he may be the answer but if the team wants to win now (and maybe they don't) they need a strong system based coach. There are plenty of teams in playoff spots with similar or less talent on paper than the jets.

I don't think Winnipeg is a desired place for perry and Getzlaf to go, I see them going to a team that will contend to make the cup, the might even resign with the ducks if they continue how they're playing

He's a TWF and has played 3 years in the NHL since he was 18 so saying he never cracked 60 points isnt something to worry about. Now if he was a 22 year old TWF getting over 60 points, then he would be put in the same category as Kesler.

One thing that is not mentioned here is that Dater reported, "The Avs are not looking for a center in return."

Wheeler + Trouba would be my price. We need a RW to play with Stastny, Jones hasn't been cutting it... Or we need a partner for EJ, and I can't see WPG moving Bogo.

Trouba would be awesome and that would create another scoring line for the Avs with either McGinn-Duchene-Parenteau and Landeskog-Stastny-Wheeler or switch up landeskog and McGinn and I think Trouba was the best defenseman taken in last years draft which is saying a lot since there was plenty of great dmen
