One if the biggest gripes I heard Isles fans have w her is her lack of a direct response to any criticism & when she does post anything in the comment section, its just a generic, generally sarcastic defense of her points.
She is BRUTAL! How she has lasted 3-4 yrs now as they're blogger is unreal. Funny cause BD Gallof was in contrast one of the better bloggers on here till he abruptly bolted. - B2B76
She is brutal and embarrassing. I usually don't even read her crap and go right to the comments, but for some reason I read that garbage today |

Alright boys here's my opinion...Torts has lost this team to the point that it looks like bizarro hockey out there. Passes are made to players standing 2 feet away skating towards the passer. Defenseman seemingly having a player slowed down along the boards but falls down on contact ( DelZotto ) while shorthanded. PP has a player standing in the middle of the defensive spot nowhere near a shooting position but two feet away from the puck holder. No JAMMMMMMM on the PP. Perimeter shot and no net crash. Torts has to go. He takes no responsibility for the preparation of this team. We'll find our way he says. When, John? When? Mid year coaching changes can be a breath of fresh air to a team. I almost forgot about the collapsing defense. Worst way to play in their own end. Points are always open one pass gets the opposing team out of trouble and the Rangers are running around chasing the puck again. It was comical last night watching Ottawa and their SEVEN rookies in the lineup toying with the Rangers, winning board battles, getting rebounds. All of these problems are brought in by the coaching staff. Every part of the game is based on defense first even on the PP. Ever see 3 players at the blueline? The star players need to have the freedom to play their way mixed in with defensive responsibility. Gabby, Richards and some others are playing not to score but to not be scored on. It's Tom Renney hockey all over again. Play not to lose in regulation and OT and let Hank win the shootout for us. Oh yeah, Hank overplayed that last shootout goal so badly from a player I never heard of. But Hank is excused because he is the only one who plays his heart out every game. Sorry, Guys.....RANT OVER!!!!!!!!!!! |

The SO goal he should have had was the Silverberg goal. But can't change that now. Gotta hope and pray that the Rangers Bell Center struggles have ended and hopefully Nash get's back in their on Saturday. |

Brian Boyle has only taken 13 minutes in penalties this season, but it sure seems like every single second of them has screwed us royally doesn't it? |

I am getting sick of him as well. I have been an unusually bad mood about this team the last couple of days. My knees are starting to jerk, and I can't stop them. TRADE, TRADE, TRADE!!!!

just seems like one of those kind of season. Like you said on twitter, this reminds some of the more seasoned ranger fans of 92-93. I was only 2 when that season started so obviously I don't remember it. But my grandfather and dad love to tell me about it. |

I said the same thing about 92-93 last night. Definetely has the same feel of that season. Tremendously high expectations. I see parallels between Roger Nielsen and Torts. I see parallels between Messier and Richards. Losing a lot of close games, just like that season. All we need now is a key player to slip on a patch of ice while getting out of car drunk, breaking a leg and completing the parallel. |

Honestly we knew we had a good two year window to challenge for the cup. The team made significant changes this offseason and it stands to reason it would take time for the pieces to come together and mesh as well as the group we had last year. Everyone on the team last season knew their role and played it well (okay, except for Bickel). Plus we were fortunate not to have many injuries forcing players to fill roles they were either ill-suited for or not ready for.
This year has been different. Gone are guys that fit into the fabric of the team like Dubi, Prust, Feds, and AA. Adding Nash is key as we've seen on the ice but I'm not surprised that it's taken time for all of the top-six guys to get into gear. Plus we've had injuries to Girardi, Callahan and Nash that have hurt mostly in terms of finding that chemistry we had last season. I'm not complaining; I feel horrible for the bad injury luck Ottawa has had and yet they are still playing good hockey. What I am saying is we should have expected an adjustmentperios that could be lengthy and of course not having a real training camp and having to compete in a shortened season is no help either.
I guess I am one of the more patient people (at least 12 hours after the game I am) but I'm still confident once the pieces get back in the lineup and find their games that we'll be fine. I still believe they will do that. |

remember that argument before this season started we had with those Oiler fans defending Ryan Nugent-Hopkins being among the top 50 players in the league?
Yeah, one goal in 15 games.
Ryan McDonagh has two. |

yes I do. and to be 4-1-2 in their last 7, Rag$ should be ashamed of themselves, regardless of who has been out - jimbro83
Well you pointed to the fact of last time team was complete they dominated a Tampa team that was on verge of extended losing streak. So I thought you were using injuries as a excuse. Regardless injuries or not. Win or lose. Torts system sucks every game is some epic struggle. No wonder team struggled in playoffs last season and if they make playoffs I don't see how it will be much different. |

i agree, im cautiously optimistic because we havent seen this team at their absolute best and it's difficult to see how they might match up to some of the other teams that we're put in that elite category to start the short season. Time is too much of a factor this year, and i think that makes us all a but more nervous than we would have been a quarter of the way into a full season |

they were within an overtime goal of making it to game 7 of the conference finals.
They made it further in last year's playoffs than any team since 1994.
Last year's team was the 3rd best Ranger team in my lifetime, after 1994 and 1979.

Big picture I see excuses of no grainy camp (like other teams had some sort of training camp), injuries, new faces and no time to gel. Then I see posts about teams youth. Bobby Sanguinetti was supposed to be top flight d-man and the list is long of others. I think with roster it is a win now team. And if Torts doesn't win now he has to go. He doesn't seem to trust young players and has to be semi forced into using them whether it's injury that got Hags called up or lack of production that made CK important in last years playoffs. So I don't really see him over seeing some youth movement. |

HI!!!!
You know how I feel/felt about her for more than 3 years now. It's a joke, and I'm happy she is getting universally eaten alive for saying it. Who wishes a concussion on someone in a league where there's a concussion epidemic? Then again, as you know, I haven't read a blog of her's since the embarrassing "Who in the hell is Jonas Hiller???" blog from the '10 Olympics.
Jan, you take the LIRR home from work? |
