Big picture I see excuses of no grainy camp (like other teams had some sort of training camp), injuries, new faces and no time to gel. Then I see posts about teams youth. Bobby Sanguinetti was supposed to be top flight d-man and the list is long of others. I think with roster it is a win now team. And if Torts doesn't win now he has to go. He doesn't seem to trust young players and has to be semi forced into using them whether it's injury that got Hags called up or lack of production that made CK important in last years playoffs. So I don't really see him over seeing some youth movement. - Chris Erwin
Torts supposedly not being good with young player I think is a bunch of crap. He played Michael Del Zotto as an 19 year old, Ryan McDonagh and Derek Stepan as 20 year olds. He played Carl Hagelin a ton as a rookie. He played Chris Kreider as a rookie in the playoffs. He has given a ton of ice time to young players in key spots.
And, I have to be honest, I am not sure if I would play Kreider much either with his play this year. He isn't entitled to ice time just because he is Chris Kreider. JT Miller has gotten a good amount of ice since he has been up, because he as earned it, and is a more complete player than Chris Kreider.
For all of his faults, I don't agree with the point that he doesn't treat young players fairly. |

scott decided he didn't have the time or desire to do the daily blogs, which is how I ended up as the Rangers' blogger, for better or worse - airjan23

speaking of the '79 team, Brad Richards went to Dave Maloney for advice on how to cope with struggling in New York |

Well you pointed to the fact of last time team was complete they dominated a Tampa team that was on verge of extended losing streak. So I thought you were using injuries as a excuse. Regardless injuries or not. Win or lose. Torts system sucks every game is some epic struggle. No wonder team struggled in playoffs last season and if they make playoffs I don't see how it will be much different. - Chris Erwin
Yeah they struggled to score in the playoffs, but they made it to the ECF for the first time in 15 years. Gotta take the good with the bad then. Now I knid of understand, Torts has to change some what now, this team has too much offensive talent to always being reminded to play defensive. |

Brad Richards is going to be fine. I really believe that. I am even starting some positive signs. He has better jump in his legs now, despite the fact that he is handling the puck like it's a hand grenade. |

HI!!!!
You know how I feel/felt about her for more than 3 years now. It's a joke, and I'm happy she is getting universally eaten alive for saying it. Who wishes a concussion on someone in a league where there's a concussion epidemic? Then again, as you know, I haven't read a blog of her's since the embarrassing "Who in the hell is Jonas Hiller???" blog from the '10 Olympics.
Jan, you take the LIRR home from work? - potvin05
