HIGH PICK...100%

call me what you want, but that high pick will do way more for this teams than option 2

- Sabres2012CUP

I agree.

I'm done with the "late run" and the 1st round loss.

I want a full rebuild at this point. I just can't take this anymore.

Yeah. I wouldn't be shocked if he snaked the job away from Murray.

Honestly a bit of both.

I think the only way this will ever get us to the promised land is option 1 though.

- nfph

Don't get me wrong, if they were to somehow go on a run, I would enjoy watching them win, but I think option 1 is the better option.

I'm just so tired of the same thing every year. It would be exciting to actually get a a chance at that 1st pick. Especially in this year's draft.

imo you can keep vanek and pominville and still enter rebuild mode.

1 or 2 high draft picks and the influx of young talent we already have could do wonders.

I think both of them are actually on the downhill swing of their "prime." I also don't know that they would resign here. Pommer I could see staying, but I'm not so sure about Vanek.

As much as I like them, with them brings years and years of losing. I want to change that mentality on this team.

Does that make sense?

Trade Pominville. He will net us a great return during trade deadline. We could get a young guy with high end potential and a 1st rounder and maybe more...

That's the problem with this site:

I have this guys Autograph jersey

Check out this video

We have several young studs - Armia, Grigs, McCabe, Gerg..etc yea, lets tank for another young player under Darcy!

I want Regier to make that bold move (how I started my post tonight)

See, I don't think Pommer gets us what he probably should. He's pretty underrated elsewhere in the league.

yeah, pretty much this. i'm not sure what i would pay them, but we certainly couldn't pay them the absolute most they'd make on the free market.

if they are hell bent on doing that regardless, obviously you move them so you aren't left with poop all, but if you can keep them for something reasonable i'd do it.

because honestly as painful as this team is to watch now, imagine them if they got rid of their only talent on the ice. it would be like watching pee wee hockey until some of the young talent comes around.

Idk... Goose got us a 1st rounder! Pommer has a lot of value to any playoff contending team. I think even what I said is to little TBH.

I like the chemistry that Vanek, Pommer and Hodge have though. So if I can still accomplish a rebuild but keep them, I'd be ok with it for the most part.

I just think that in order to do a the rebuild they need to, Vanek could get a really good return and Pommer a fairly solid one.

Pominville would fetch a lot.
I think the Sabres would be crazy to trade him.
