Kassian is a winger. - HonkFortheGoose
right. but we dont need another center if grigorenko and hodgson(or ennis) pan out. then you have porter for 3rd. and who cares about the 4th.
edit: porter or some veteran 3c you can sign and porter can be 4th.
someone like stoll idk |

i guess the silver lining to our horrendous defense this year is that organizationally it's one of our deepest positions. hopefully if the youngsters pan out as they should, we could potentially be all set in the next few years - Putzfrau
That's why I don't want to trade any of them. But when I say it I get called an Amerks cheerleader. |

Porter is not the answer for 3rd line center. There's a reason he was in Rochester to begin with.
Kassian wasn't necessary because of the emergence of Foligno. That's why they were able to trade him. They brought in Ott to help out in that respect as well. Both of them are gritty and can get you offensive production as well. |

well they are silly then.
there's a lot of potential there, and it's potential that's being developed the right way. plenty of time outside of the nhl to get comfortable. |

well i obviously dont mean trade back for kassian lol. heres what i would envision for 2 or 3 years from now if i had this roster right now IF (GIANT IF) everyone hits their potential
Drouin - Grigorenko - Pominville
Foligno - Hodsgon - Armia
Random Free Agent - Girgensons - Tropp
who - really - cares
Ehrhoff - McNabb
Myers - Pysyk
Sekera - Who cares
i changed my mind on trading vanek instead since RW depth looks FAR more bleak, and drouin is LW i think and would be my choice if i had a pick in the top 3 |

and FWIW: i traded everyone for first round picks on nhl 13 and am currently stacked. Shinkaruk was my steal of the draft scoring 40 as a rookie. |

Rolston looks lost behind the bench as much as the team does on the ice. |

I'm not sure how you don't look lost when you don't even know at least 60% of your roster. |

Hey Garth......I checked in to listen to your crickets.....nothing to blog tonight? To you Sabres fans, I really can understand your disgust for this roster. Miller is a whiner of the highest order and Scott is a paper heavyweight fighting champ. Darcy needs to start looking for a new position elsewhere, for assembling this roster and signing so many stiffs to long term contracts. Maybe Darcy needs to move Miller and get something of value and start buying out loser contracts ASAP. You still have some nice pieces that need to be nurtured. A good coach is a must and he needs to be new and be a teacher. |

I once saw the Sabres trade an 88 overall Thomas Vanek and a 90 overall Miller to San Jose for Tomas Vokoun and Torrey Mitchell. Vokoun played around 10 games before retiring, and Mitchell was traded for a 7th. I (frank)ing love that game sometimes. |

Agreed. Pommer isn't the leader we need here. He is very valuable but he sure isn't as valuable as Drury or even Peca was.
Therefore we need to get Drury/Peca v2 ROR . Seriously thats what you build around! - Smittyx36
A lot of players seem to be able to succeed in Buffalo but not elsewhere.
Drury, Peca, Connolly, etc.
Very odd! |

I am glad to see that finally I think the Sabres are hitting ROCK bottom in terms of confidence and realisation of player ability and actual team play I don't really expect Rolston to fix that, just evaluate these guys and the guys and Rochester and see if anyone looks good and get rid of a few players. |

Please don't let me read how the Sabres played a more inspired game. This team played a marginally more inspired game and still showed that they are a terrible team. Is a 2-1 loss better than a 10-1 loss? Why was the number one prospect sitting in the press box? Is he somehow learning up there? Rookies will make mistakes while learning. Why not let him play now and learn since the team is obviously headed to the basement?
Where is the big player move/ moves? Why is kevin Porter somehow better than Cody McCormick? Oh yeah, he did take 2 dumb penalties....... Why was Drew Stafford even on the ice?
New coach same players = Nothing new...... |
