Seems a bit desparate calling up Aliu, you have Jackman, Begin, Sarich, Glen X who should be stepping up. Fans will love it though.

If 57 points is the projected magic number to get in that means going the equivelent of 22-11 over the next 33 games..... ain't happening.

The Flames weren't outmuscled last night they just had some really horrible ice. Pucks had to be shot to make it 5ft and people were falling left and right. 2 lucky bounces and this would be a different story.

Probably going to hear this on a few of your prospects from me, but I'm pulling for Aliu. Really thought he was going to be a late bloomer gem of a pickup. Still quite young so who knows what this kid can do.

People are over looking the move the flames made of sending 2 centers down to the minors. The flames now have one NHL center on their team. His name is Matt Stajan. Its not hard to see why the flames are so bad this year when Matt Stajan is the best and only center on the team.

I hope they don't put Alui on the 4rth line. Last year he made us fans excited and he played on the 2nd line with Cammalleri. If we bring him up for toughness, and he is on the 4rth line playing 8 minutes, i don't see what difference it would make since we already have Begin, and Jackman there. We need to spread out our tough guys so when our goalie, or one of our stars gets run by some ahole, we have someone on the ice that will do something.

At least Aliu will be ripping around out there like he gives a S***. Jackman, Comeau and Begin give us the same crap every game, none of them ever try to get under the other teams skin. That's what Aliu will do, he'll be messing with people all night and he won't back down. Quite frankly I can't wait to see it.

Apparently baertschi shed his non-contact jersey this morning. Considering 2 people were sent down and one was called up I would assume he will get into the lineup tomorrow as well.

Thats why I am advocating a trade of JBO. Best return the Flames will probably get & Brodie brings pretty well the same as JBO, Wideman is the same transition type of dman. Gio used to really hit & headhunt a bit, but not so much anymore. Until we get Wotherspoon & Sieloff up to NHL levels, our 5-6 dmen are soft soft soft. Porr Kipper when he finally does return, I suggest he complain about pain in that knee for a little longer

This post couldnt hit the nail on the head any better. What a bad fan I am, I personally am hoping we lose both games this weekend & actually force Feaster/King & Edwards to get the heads out of their a$$es. Thing is, stars are aligned for us in a chance to really parlay moves to hava bunch of blue chip options. No its not 3 first overalls but this big bad blowup rebuild the hockey world think the Flames should do could look more like a Philly/Ottawa retool & be competitive & even surprise peolpe next year.

Gio is kind of disappointing me with his lack of physicality. Here is hoping he gets in a fight on Saturday.

Until this team shows it will protect its goalie, and play well in front of him (consistently, for 60 min), no sense rushing Kipper back and risking an aggravation of the current injury.
