Speaking of defense, there were 9 guys drafted in the first round of the 2006 draft. Outside of Erik Johnson, none have played more than 50 NHL thus far. there are more guys from the 2nd round and later drafted that have done better. Its just a crap shoot

any of us that has played a sport knows that you have certain teams that you get up for...right or wrong.
Wednesday's game versus the Pens was that game and then turnaround and play a game against a team that you should be able to beat, like it or is tough. I don't care if you are a professional athlete or a bum playing a pick up game. We are human...
Add into the insanse schedule and it's been a total grind for this team and every other team this year. Some teams are better prepared then others. It happens.

I know i have played tournaments where your first game is against one of those teams that you need to expand most of your energy and then two hours later your playing a team that you know you should beat. The energy level just isn't there...poop happens. We just expect a lot more out of these guys because they are getting paid.

this team is young, maybe the youngest (aveage age) in the league. Finally they are going with youth and building a nice nucleus. It reminds of those teams in teh 80's.

I do fault the coaching staff in playing Bryz. it's been a grind this year and he could use a game off from time to time. But, i don't think Lavy has lost the team.

As for Homer. we can all dissect the trades after the fact. I think he's made a lot more good trades versus bad trades.

Anyone think Huberdeau has a shot at ROY? Right now it's looking like Tarasenko as the favorite, but I think Huberdeau's leading all rookies in goals. Maybe a 3-way race between them and Conacher?
