I agree. Actually, Barkann frequently cites players' salaries as though it ought to make them impervious to injuries, fatigue or the occasional short slump.
- bmeltzer

Someone should ask him why his interviewing skills/radio show suck so much even though he gets paid a lot of money.

Ike Reese is an abomination on the radio.

Streit is a good player, but I wouldn't sign him to a long term deal using Cap space saved from buying out Briere.
- MJL

I'd only sign Streit for 3 years tops. Maybe get Visnovsky for a year.

Their really can't be someone still wishing those 2 trades never happened ..
I get that Vejim is unhappy they lost last night but really dude? You would rather have Carter and Richards over those 4 players?

Lets look at it another way, lets compare ages.

Simmonds = 24
Schenn = 21
Voracek = 23
Coturier = 20

Carter and Richards = 28

It's not all about the numbers. Not saying we didnt do well in that trade but how can you deny that Richards brings and element to the team that we're lacking right now. The closest we came to the Richards' element was Giroux's shift in the pens series last year.

Sorely missing this element of Captain Richie Riches career:

I find it absolutely maddening that they go to such lengths to make a guy look like a fool.

Even the good questions about fatigue and the schedule were just a bridge to get him to say "High Five".

It spurs talk which gets more people to listen. That's why I'm not getting on the #94WIPSucks bandwagon. Ignoring them is the smartest & most challenging option, but that's what you do with trolls.

Catholic school turned me into an unbalanced, slightly insane born-again Christian. We have so much in common!
- Flyskippy

I'm sure the born again stuff will eventually happen to me. I begrudge no one their faith or lack of it.

I mean, I'm married to a very devout Catholic girl.

the funny thing is that borat is supposed to be from Kazakistan not russia....brig difference...
- Philly1980

The other funny thing is that the Borat character (like all three of the SBC characters on Da Ali G Show) was designed to reveal just bigoted and prejudiced people are, accepting just about any ridiculous -- or bigoted -- thing that Borat says because he's a) just a dumb foreigner from a country they know little or nothing about and b) he was so cheerful and enthusiastic about it. Meanwhile, SCB under the Borat guise got unsuspecting people to reveal all their own ignorance and bigotry that they unknowingly put forward.

At any rate, trying to get Bryzgalov to repeat Borat catchphrases because he speaks with an accent pretty much paints the hosts as the true ignorant ones.

I wouldn't sign either for more than a one year extension, a la Timonen.

I want to avoid over 35 deals and they have to bank some space to keep Giroux, Couturier, Schenn and Read in 2014.

Great satire often misses the sensibility of the people it is making fun of.

It's not the fact that they suck now, but they've crossed the line on this one. Listen, I get satire--I get the whole comedian impersonating thing, I do. But they completely crossed the line. Someone should write to CBS.

I am all for humor. not much bothers me. but to openly mock a guy who is taking time out of his day to talk hockey and to throw questions at him that are nothing more than fishing because you know he is an open guy speaking his second language but irks the living hell out of me

Similar to the old television show All In The Family. The Archie and Michael characters were so perfectly balanced that it exposed those on both sides of nearly every issue.
