To add, the Bruins dont play again until Sunday. So by Saturday night the Flyers will have played 20(!) games while the Bruins will have played 14.
Just hold on boys. - MBFlyerfan
Will see what happens. |

For some reason, people don't appreciate, or simply just aren't aware of what Fedetenko brings to a team. Excellent move by Holmgren. Knuble was brought in because of injuries, and has played well. - MJL
I honestly don't understand why Wellwood is not getting any chance this year. He's in the doghouse but the guy played well last season. |

I thought they should have started Boucher after that tilt in Pittsburgh - JoeRussomanno
yeah, me too. heard a little more of the interview and he was definitely indicating he was tired and needed a break. |

At the Phantoms game. Sitting front of 4-5 WIP inspired teens/twenty-somethings. Think Heeter is better than Bryz, Coburn sucks, Phantoms have more hustle, etc. |

Agree 100%
With the system in place, you need fast skaters to pressure the puck and backcheck especially with our D that is missing a puck moving defenseman and the lack of speed on our overall blue line. Fed and Knuble are veterans and do bring something to this young team. The question is whether they fit Lavy's style of play.
Beside a speedy puck moving defenseman that has a hard shot, I think the flyers would really benefit from a forward able to bring the puck into the offensive zone with possession. Jagr was incredible at it last season. Voracek is showing great potential and is becoming very valuble for zone entries.
Wellwood's numbers are also oustanding in possession/zone entries.
Gaining the zone with possession is an important driver of offensive success; carrying the puck in leads to more than twice as many shots, scoring chances, and goals as dumping it in. (source: Eric T.)

Nice info. Doesn't make any sense to have him with the Phantoms IMO. He has speed and plays well at both ends of the ice. He's not a star but he showed how well he can play when getting a chance. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Trap Games, Bryzgalov, Read - bmeltzer
The odds are normally against the team who played the night before, especially such a long, grind the night before. In such a case, you need to adjust. Take out a Harry Z. At spot just opened with loss of Read. Don't be afraid to start your back up. We beat the Pens in a very fun game to watch but five goals were still allowed and Florida isn't a top team in the league. Get some rested bodies out there. Lesson learned. |

Oh no, they think Wellwood should be a Flyer instead of Shelley, the Flyers should've played the Pens in the Winter Classic, the Phantoms Winter Classic was a dumb idea, & more constant droning... |

I don't understand at all why Bouch, Wellwood and/or Sestito didn't play last night. I'd put all three in. Fresh legs, some speed and some grit for Parros when the Flyers poop the bed. |

Outside of speed, I don't see what Harry Z brought to the table the night before. It would be nice to see Wellwood play but why is Harry Z play over McGinn who has nothing short of fantastic. Last I saw, Sestito scored two goals on the Lightning. Reward these guys. Bryz want the Pens game but he has a heavy work load as of late. Get Boucher in against a lesser team who isn't in playoff contention. |

just have to pass this along
Sarnia - 13
Erie - 3
Reid Boucher (Devils draft 2011 4th round pick) scored 4 goals tonight to give him 57 on the season, he just passed Jon Sim who put up 56 in back to back seasons for Sarnia and is now 1 goal behind tying the current record of 58 currently held by Stamkos.
He has 8 games to pass him. |

Well, for one, Wellwood isn't on the roster.
Grossmann did about as well as Sestito would have, judging from his past battles.
No argument on playing Boucher. |
