when's the last time a flyers was 1st star? - hammarby31
Not sure, but I'm guessing it was one of the other two gingers on the top line.
The Flyers have to lead the league in gingers, right? I'm pretty sure the Flyers lead the league with guys named "Brayden". |

Wouldn't mind that but I don't think I'd want to give up a 1st or Laughton/Cousins, which might be the only way to get him. - NickTheKid87
That is a lot for a rental I agree, even though Streit would help this team tremendously.
If he doesn't resign an extension soon, I would think the Islanders GM would be better off trading him at the deadline for the best package available. Better than losing him to free agency in the summer and getting nothing in return. If they aren't close to making the playoffs, he's probably going to be available at the deadline. |

Speaking of the Islander's GM, how much longer is he going to be given to make a go of things there? He's been there over 6 years. |

If you throw out the Flyers non back to backs, they have 3 fewer games played than the Bruins. That's ridiculous. Flyers have played 4 more B2B's than Boston so far - Jsaquella
I think you will see some of these teams come back down to earth and even out with us in the standings. Some are saying that the team is done because they have played extra games and are behind. Normally that's true, but with this crazy sched it means the teams we're chasing are up for some tough times IMO. |

JVR says he has nothing but good things to say about Flyers. Damn.
That, in a nutshell, is the problem with the sports media in Philly. |

Exactly. As these other teams hit these stretches of two back to backs in a week, they're not picking up every point. |

I think keeping higher level assets and using Gustafsson as the primary puck mover would be a better option than getting Streit. Unless it'll cost a 3rd or something. |

I'll be honest, when we struggled so bad out of the gate.. I wasn't paying attention and kind of thought that every team had the same type of sched right out of the gate.. truth is.. most did not. They are playing better now, and my prediction is a 6-8 seed for them.. |

Thank goodness JVR didn't say anything that the Flyers could pin to the bulletin board as motivation.
One of my favourite pro sports theories, by the way.
"Well, we weren't really motivated to beat the Leafs tonight - it's a pretty condensed 48-game schedule, so we are going to need to take a few games off to stay healty and fresh, but then JVR said that Lauren Hart no longer looked fetching in jeans, and that really fired the boys up. We are going to do everything we can to win tonight." |

I saw some Leafs fans were disgusted with the play of Mr. Gunnarson. Was he to blame for the goal in the last 30 seconds vs. the Sens? |

He got treated to a nice big contract while here and is still friends with a lot of guys on the team. This was a pretty dumb question, I agree. |

It's jus so ridiculous here, as it is in Toronto. We had a beat writer tweet that Bryzgalov wasn't talking after a game where he got pulled, and his co-worker tweeted that you had to be a "standup guy" to make it in Philly...and this is a beatwriter that blocks anyone who disagrees with him on twitter.
Meanwhile, Bryz did talk to the media that night, the original tweet came before he was available. |
