The way I see it.. they have already lost 3 games so it can't be compared to our streak.

He was hurt all of last year. I blame his pretzelitis on McCrossin.
I swear I would get rid of him just to change up the karma.

- PLindbergh31

He's "using his size" a bit now, but even so, he's just doing it passively - he'll take the rough stuff, but he's not exactly doling out hits.

I just get the feeling that the guy could achieve so much more if he was ever really hungry.

You know, you have to think out of that crowd, JVR would be the odd man out anyway, when the time would have came when he needed to be reupped.

Kind of the way I look at it.

I wish him all the best, and I'm very psyched we got a solid, future top pair dman

- Giroux_Is_God

Yeah I think at some point JVR would have been dealt anyway.

If you haven't seen it, take a look at his shifts in the playoff series against the Bruins 2 years ago. Guy played possesed

I think you are doing the math wrong, Hexy.

Under the old system, those games would have been ties. They still would have taken a point.

He's never been a hitter but if he can play like a power forward in the offensive end, the sky's the limit.

Icompletely understand that.. but now that we've had to make it like the other major sports.. it's called a Shoot out Loss.. not a Shoot out tie.

Edit: so it's a points streak not an unbeaten streak.

Hitch with his Sears suit, $30 watch with the rubber band, arms folded behind that bench has something in store for the Hawks!

I'm still waiting.

Don't know why he got such a bad rap up for you guys. He's been great so far here

EDIT: Only 23? Or something like that? Everyone knows young dmen experience growing pains that are more exaggerated than their forward counterparts. I think he'll develop very nicely.

So do we.

2-2 at the end of regulation, and we play for the garbage point?

Deal?

- Atomic Wedgie

So long as it's an overtime winner by somebody and not another shootout loss where Bryz doesn't make a single save.

All the negatives about Schenn (his speed, passing ability, positional awareness) have seemed to have been way overblow by you guys. His speed hasn't been an issue nor his passing for a defensive defenseman. Sometimes he'll get out of position going for the big hit but that'll stop with experience. Overall, he's been tremendous.

I'm happy for JVR. Good for him. Good for TOR.

Thank you for Schenn. He is way better then your fan base makes him out to be. He is great with big hits and blocked shots. Sometimes out of position which makes him stand out. I'm more then happy to have him in Philly.

I think Luke's confidence was shot in Toronto. If he had stayed there, he never would have developed. Now he gets to play in a new place with his brother no less. Seems like it's taken the edge off.

I don't think Wedgie is saying Schenn is a stiff by any means, he isn't sold on him being a top pairing d-man. Anyone who is impartial, would have to agree the jury is still out on that.

You know what I'm tired of? This misplaced notion that the flyers are a historically dirty franchise. They were beat up and pushed around by the blues and bruins waaaay back when. They responded by building a team that out fought/played those teams. They've had players that over the years crossed the line, but not worse than any other franchise.

I'd love to see Schenn plaster JVR at the end of a 5-1 win... exclamation point from us Flyers fans.. (we spend a 2nd pick on you after the season from hell and now you decide to show once again, that the flyers need to be more patient?)

The jury is definitely still out but a verdict is a lot closer to being decided upon than when he was in Toronto. If he keeps progressing at this pace, he should be at least a 2nd/3rd dman for a good portion of his career.

The Bullies are the reason. They glorified goons with Schultz and the like. It's not entirely fair to call them a dirty franchise but it is what it is.

Schenn has exceeded my expectations so far. If he continues to improve he's got a chance to be a fixture on the Flyers blueline for a decade +

I'd like to see Briere sit or play much less time. I'd like Mcginn with Schenn and Simmonds because Briere does nothing on the forecheck, doesn't look like hes putting much effort out, and is the worst player on the team in his own zone. Sure he scores clutch goals but he is out on the ice for more goals against than for. Also not to mention all of the idiotic stick infraction penalties he takes. Sorry for the rant
