So Clowe gets two games.. not sure I understand that ruling at all.
- Hextall271

Coming off the bench to fight is an automatic ten game suspension, and Clowe was saying that he was coming on to replace Pavelski.

They didn't buy the explanation totally, but it was open to some doubt.

I wouldn't necessarily say something is imminent. However, I do think a GM can do some due dilegence on his own by observing games in person on an idea he may be weighing about pursuing to potentially help his team in the future.

Armstrong has been on the east coast for the last week or so. He's hit a few games

Is it me or when a GM is watching a game of another team multiple times, something potentially significant is brewing, not the standard 4th line winger for a bag of pucks. Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk both RFAs at the end of the season, just saying.
- ravishingone

Wouldn't get my hopes up for either of those guys. Blues have little D depth to be giving those guys up. Plus they have no reason to be moving those guys midseason while theyre in the playoff hunt.

Maybe they have interest in Briere for a pick? They have all the cap room in the world, could use some more offense heading into the playoffs too.

To be honest besides Briere I cant see any player of value being shopped right now where a GM is coming to games.

Peter Chiarelli of the Bruins was at two recent Flyers games and met with Paul Holmgren during the second intermission of one of them. Doesn't mean they were talking trade or that one is imminent.

Armstrong could also be looking at the Leafs, as the first Flyers game he was at was against the Leafs.

Kicking the tires if the Flyers become sellers at the TD.

Or maybe they enjoy the reasonably priced beverages at the Well.

I believe so. The organization no doubt loves him but drafting Center after Center makes him expendable when he's making so much money. Especially considering his offensive output is not what it used to be.

The playoff thing is hard to argue against but at some point that luck is going to run out. We have the young talent. Might as well give them their shot and have money to address needs elsewhere. At least thats what I think.

I think if he had thrown a punch he would have gotten the 10 games. The fact that he only managed to grab Shaw before the linseman got there saved him the 8 games.

Yes.

Well, I'll put it this way, I would use a compliance buy out on him this summer.

his luck has been going strong for a solid 8 years now...

too bad we can't just buy him out and then re-sign him into a new contract...

We'd still have too many centers tho. I'd prefer the cap room.

Possibly. I'd be open to trading him as Read's return gets closer.

Blues and Bs are probably the only two playoff locks that could afford his cap hit. Have to hope they really want him. Don't see why we couldn't get a few picks tho. That is unless they call our bluff on not buying him out.

Say the Boston rumor is true, that he'd accept a trade to the Bruins. I'd be open to a deal where they get a 2nd and a prospect.
