What'd you guys think of the Oscars? - NickTheKid87
Meh. How do you not recognize Alex Karras and Andy Griffith in the "People Who Died" montage? |

Not enough movie credits? Beats me. |

I don't understand the Foster hate. He hasn't been great, but he's provided a little offense from the third pairing when he's played. He's got a big shot. Everything else he does is average to below average, but it's not like he's anywhere near as terrible as that bum Lilja. - PLindbergh31
I wasn't arguing against Foster and for Lilja. I think they are both not good.
I just don't want either guy near the ice for this team. |

Dude, Karras was (frank)ing Mongo
I mean if you have enough room for MCA, you need to have Mongo |

Gervais hasn't been very good either. He's been exposed when his role was expanded. When Meszaros comes back, I would hope Gustafsson would remain in the lineup. |

I was talking about this on Twitter on Saturday night: what do you think about trading a AHLer/late round pick for Simon Gagne? He was a healthy scratch on Saturday. - NickTheKid87
Gagne's got 5 assists and 20 SOG through 11 games. For some reason he's been highly ineffective. There's been talk about sitting Knuble on these boards...Gagne wouldn't be much more than fodder for similar talk.

It's only because he's sucked. Other than that, great addition. |

Who goes out of the lineup if they get Gags back? (A move I would welcome, fwiw)
Rusty? Knuble? Probably Knuble, right?

19 points in 20 games.
Currently sitting out of the playoffs in 9th place.
I figure the minimum for playoffs is 54.
That means they need 35 points from the next 28 games.
Oh, and every team in front of them and behind them in the standings has played less games thus far.
Impossible? No, of course not. Likely? I don't know. I'd like to think they can do it but the inconsistency they've shown thus far doesn't instill confidence. Yes, I know there have been injuries but the hole they've dug for themselves is pretty deep.
Go Flyers! |

Except he's Simon Gagne, who should have retired as a Flyer and had his name etched on the William Penn Statue. |

I figured they would have made a trade for someone they seem to be able to get good quality guys when the need it. Yeah losing pronger sucks big time no matter how much you hate a guy you can't deny wha that man does for a team. - Yeti1181
Exactly. This is why they went so hard at Weber and Suter. |

Not sure what the expectations were for him, I don't think he was terrible when he played. |

Haven't seen Gagne play much, but I can't imagine he would crack LA's top 6 forwards.
I wouldn't be against getting him if the Flyers had a role for him. |

And would probably be concussed during his first shift upon his return. |

He's barely cracking their top 12. Something's amiss out west.

No doubt.
On the flip side, I like when Gustafsson has done for them so far. When Mez comes back, they should completely rid themselves of Foster if they can. - johndewar
I like Gus's game as well.. Very happy to have him back. Get Mesz back and healthy, and we're in business:
Timo-Schen Coburn-grossmann Mesz- Gus.. Not horrible. |

The games I have seen him play, he's playing like he's hurt.
Remember whenever he returned from an injury as a Flyer, he'd take a game or two to be the aggressive attacking scorer he was when healthy? Well, he's playing like he just got back from injury. |
