Buffalo fans are just Burnt out of the same god damned thing every year.. its like groundhogs day.. but real.
Both Bills and Sabres fans live by the motto "you dont run from, where you come from". the teams suck but the fans have so much passion..
If either team put out a winning team Buffalo would be like no other place in sports.. - BuffaloKyle
If/When Toronto eventually wins a Stanley Cup I think Toronto is going to have to be put into a state of emergency.
They'd have to shut down the entire downtown core for a week due to partying in the streets. |

The Sabres need to suck like have been for multiple years - RynoBull
I actually think we are ahead of the curve and could be competitive in 2 years if they start rebuilding at the deadline. We have good prospects already. Just need that game changer #1 overall. |

Toronto is huge.. Buffalo is a Blue collar city with a Sh!t ton of pride.. In Buff, it would be more like a personal accoplishment that would pour out of everybody..
It would be nuts in both cities though..
I have alot of family that live in Toronto in the Scarborough area.. The pride they have for anything Toronto is incredible as well..

I think this team will be lucky to win 15 games this season.. we are already at a point of no return and the trade deadline isn't even until April.
I don't think we see any big trades happen until closer to the deadline in order to drive up the price on guys like Pommer, Vanek, Miller, Stafford, Sekera, or maybe even Myers...
I guess I could see something small before then.
If Darcy continues to make small trades for improvement instead of trades for the future.. I think we will continue to circle the toilet for years to come until he is Fired.
I am all for letting the kids play to gain experience... If we can flip Vanek for another 1st rounder this year.. I would take it... to resign Vanek who is already at 7+M per season would be ridiculous... Miller is going to leave for the west coast any way so I would trade him for a youth goalie. Pommer and Myers are the guys I want to stay and build around. |

Well hopefully both teams can return to being competitive soon, and we can see a couple QEW cup wins in the future. |

Not ever winning a championship in either major sport is part of the reason people are irrational here and want to place blame on everyone and everything. The patience has worn thin in this city |

Morning all!
Just to play Devil's Advocate with Grigorenko:
I am not upset that he is still here as opposed to Juniors. He was way above Junior level and is just not at NHL level, yet. There is some good to not playing in Quebec and remaining with the Sabres:
1. He trains and practices with an NHL club, playing with guys that are better than him, that can guide him. He gets extra, more specified coaching (working on his skating stride now) which he would never get in Juniors.
2. What if he got hurt playing in Juniors? How pointless would that have seemed? In Buffalo, he is able to essentially get his body properly ready for the rest of his NHL career.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him be an immediate success in the NHL, but he was brought into a sh*tty situation where unrealistic expectations were placed on him. But as bad as the situation in Buffalo currently is, there is still much more to gain at the NHL level than at the Junior level.
As far as the contract situation goes and burning one year of his entry level deal, who the hell cares?! It's 100% about money and that is the one department the Sabres have no troubles with.
Just my thoughts with the situation and how it is not a complete waste, actually far from it. |

I agree.... I don't know about Hoff though.... he has played pretty decent this year for hte most part besides that his shot barely hits any where close to the net now... I bet Miller is happy that Ehrhoff hasn't drilled him yet...
I think that Grigo is our 2C of the future... and between Ennis and Hodge.. one will be traded.. and at this point.. I could honestly see Ennis being moved to wing and Hodge being traded. They just like Ennis too much IMO. |

I agree with that... I just hope he doens't pick up any of the bad habits and cutting edge tendencies that some of these guys pull every night...
I still hope that we can pursue Patrick Roy to come coach his golden boy in Buffalo this summer... |

What do you call the Hodgson trade? I call it a big trade to help the future of this franchise at the Center position. |

I believe that Darcy's biggest problem is not understanding the idea of addition by subtraction...
If it is true that Regehr is a locker room cancer, move him out. There are still enough D-men on this roster, and in Rochester, to not have to get someone back in return to replace him.
Same for Stafford...while I'd like to get something in return, we may already have players in the system ready to fill that slot, like Grigo.
Darcy's need to always "win" a trade is part of the problem here. He clearly lacks understanding that "winning" may not always mean getting a "better" player back. |

I don't either. He has been far from spectacular like everyone else. He is brutal on the PP right now and shooting the puck in general. He also had an awful night saturday. No one on this team in untouchable anymore, they need to clean house |
