in all seriousness i applaud your taking precautions. i have noticed a big difference in Canadian and American beer leaguers. the Canadian guys to tend to wear full gear and full face protection, even neck guards. the Americans, almost as a rule, never wear shoulder pads and are more likely to not wear face protection at all or wear a visor.

it's all about respect or lack there of in a beer league, if you are breaking in and you see some guy in front of you trying to block a shot, no point in winding up for a big shot

No point in hurting people, but if you are playing with a bunch of guidos/paki/lebos who just start playing a couple of years ago and have no respect at all, you might want to throw on a some extra gear.
