this is a pretty random trade, but meh guess i dunno if its bad or good yet i mean Cole forechecks but ryder takes more shots, gamble on both ends i guess - Habitants98
It might work out well. Habs needed a right handed sniper other than Gionta. |

I'm guessing he wanted a big payday at the end of the year after two solid seasons in Dallas, so they made a move for a similar producing dude (usually) that is locked up for a few more years. - AdamFrench
He's also bigger, which helps I guess. |

Not a bad thing for this year, Ryder is more productive but not as physical.
I guess the Habs management didn't like Cole's attitude post lockout. #puckgary |

I'm surprised Bergevin was able to pull that off. Cole has two more years on his deal and costs more. He's also, quite unbelievably not getting any younger.
Good job MB - slashtrash
yeah good point, contract wise its no gambles |

He was amazing last year. I'm not sure this isn't close to a push even when you don't consider cap space. Two more years at 4.5.
Gainey's in Dallas's front office. It has to be a good trade. |

no hate, he had a great season last year, maybe overachieved, very out of shape this year and his comment did not really show he was happy in montreal |

got a guy that is now tied for the team lead in points, for a guy that's looked terrible, still has 2 year left at 4.5 million per and has 6 points. it's seems very unhab-like. |
