Does anyone think Bryzgalov has played himself out of a buyout? IMO, it should still be on the table the next two offseasons regardless.
- phillydentist

I think he had one goal last night he'd really like back (the Kessel goal) and as weak as that one looked if Kessel doesn't pinpoint that shot perfectly into the bottom corner it's not a goal anyways.

Bryz can't be faulted on the Kulemin goal. Backhanders are near impossible for a goaltender to read, especially one that's aimed to go off the post and in.

He played strong, and for the most part I've been impressed with him this season. He also seems like a funny guy, and I'm sure that helps the team in the dressing room.

I wouldn't buy him out unless Philly really has a plan to replace him (maybe a Luongo deal)?

Can you believe meteor showers in Russia happen with more frequency than Bryzgalov stopping a breakaway. Unpossible.

When I heard him ask who is more weird on that 24/7 episode I spit cereal across the room. Guy isn't playing with a full deck. I think his personality is stellar. I find it refreshing and amusing.

And without the track record. That's the thing that people seem to forget. Bryzgalov had 4 or 5 years as an exceptional NHL starter prior to coming to Philly. He didn't roll off a turnip truck and get handed a huge contract.
- Jsaquella

according to the (frank)wit haters, which is most of the fanbase, that's exactly what happened.

1st of all get your facts straight. He's had 3 good years out of 9. All with Phoenix. Product of the system just like mike smith. That's not a track record. Have you guys just seeN so much bad goaltending over the years that you are hood winked into thinking bryz is great. He is what he is. He's 32. He's not going to change or improve. There will be no cup parade with him. I wish it were different ( I thought he would be a great goalie in Philly) but I was wrong. And these game saving key saves you guys keep referring to are almost always routine saves! I dont see him with athletic saves? I do see on highlights every break away and shoot out getting used and abused though as everyone outside is laughing their a$$es off at us for signing this bum to a 9 year contract[/img]

It really is hard to argue with that... but man he tossed a grenade into the church of philadelphia sports with that one.

People see the bad goals but they don't see the breakdown that lead to them or the other goals were the team fails to clear the front of the net or they leave a guy unchecked. They certainly don't see the timely, game-saving stops.
- NickTheKid87

Agreed. No matter what personnel you employ, they are not going to win every game, make every save, make all the big hits and never turn the puck over.

The Flyers have beat some of the best teams and lost to some of the worst. What this shows is that they are young and erratic.

To everyone seems to want to trade our Vets for youth? That's what they islanders did. Play all your young players and hope they learn... yeah well they've learned how to lose real good. Put them on the ice with guys like Kimmo & Briere who want to win every game, every year, who truly push the envelop of Sacrifice, then THAT's what those young players learn. Homer keeps those guys for a reason. Besides if you have a team of all young players, they just all go UFA at the same time and nobody can afford that.

I don't think anyone can play with a full deck and be a goalie here. Bernie didn't and look how that worked out.

He really did.

I loved when Bryz talked about the universe and stuff. I'm the same way. It's comforting to me to think of the vastness of space and how infinitesimal our problems are. Just wish people would stop using it against him.

Probally becuase he doesn't play at a high level now. Some of you guys think he's played great this year. Sorry don't see it. He's played ok overall. He's a big technique and angle stIff. Get him moving( like breakaways and shoot outs) and he's complete garbage! Sorry but for that huge contract we were dooped. He is no savior. He's aN average middle of the pack goalie with a great personality nothing more nothing less.
- SMS4016

Get him moving and he's complete garbage? That ignores how many big game saving saves Bryzgalov has made this year, moving side to side. You can't see what your not willing to see.

Absolutely. When he walked into the room where the players were eating and said Bon Apetito guys, I started howling. Just struck me funny. I'm rooting for the guy, I want him to succeed partly because I like the guy.

for anyone laughing at bryzgalov and the star wars thing being flaky, here's something that might blow your mind. To summarize, scientists are finding out that such a thing as the "Force" exists.

Thanks for your exemplary work, Bill. Would that the Flyers could put together similar efforts day in and day out. Problems are par for the course.
