I'd pick Marc-Andre Fleury as the most overrated goalie in the NHL, and Kari Lehtonen as the most underrated. - bmeltzer
Miller's up there. I do agree that MAF makes my "All-Overrated Team".
Along with Lehtonen in Dallas, I think Loui Eriksson might be the most underrated forward. |

RotJ would've been better served if GL stuck to the Wookiees being featured instead of (in Harrison Ford's words) "the teddy bear picnic." - Flyskippy
There's a lot of ways it could've been improved, but I love that movie just for the Emperor confrontation scenes. Anyways, I'm going to control myself here and not force spam this thread. |

The biggest concern among several is the fact that teams that have some speed and can play a puck pressure game are going to win most of the time against the Flyers. Bill references this in his first paragraph.
Toronto made life hell for the Flyers trying to clear their zone and on the Flyers PP they Leafs had guys on the puck very quickly.
A lot of this is a coaching issue.
But I think you have to give the Leafs a ton of credit. They have been the better team so far this year. More team speed, their goal scorers are finishing better, way better team D, and better goaltending making the saves at key times. Flyers were also out coached and the Leaf players had the better effort.
Lavi has got to adjust his strategies to the players that he has.
Otherwise every team in the league has a blueprint to beat these guys.

So scrivens is one of the best ib the league? Toronto committed to team defense last night. Again when a team plays really strong solid defense in this league any NHL goalie will look very good. We signed bryz to huge deal to be the great goalie we thought he was enabiliNg us to play our wide open attack system. FAIL! He is not that goalie. So you want to scrap our system and play solid stay at home defense to protect the albatass in net? - SMS4016
Which team, with a top level goalie, doesn't play a tight checking game? When the Flyers committed to team defense last March, Bryzgalov had a team record shutout streak.
Look at Laviolette's system in Carolina. When they played committed team defense, Cam Ward was a Conn Smythe winner. When they didn't, they failed to make the playoffs. |

Just to be sure, you're saying that the Flyers signed Bryzgalov so they wouldn't have to play well defensively. So they can just ignore their end of the ice, and play an all out open attack system, and just let Bryzgalov make the saves. Just looking for clarification. |

It's a shame the makeup gave her issues. My wife hated that she had to leave because of it. - Flyskippy
They could never adequately replace her character although they brought on some great new ones to try. |

I love RotJ most because of the final growth of Luke, the appearance of the Emperor, and the redemption of Anakin. The 3 years in between those two movies were killer to this young Star Wars fan. We'd be talking about it in school, my bro and me at home, after soccer games/practice, after baseball games/practice... And then when the trailer came out, it caused more questions than answers. |

Hasn't Eriksson been voted most underrated two years in a row?
I still think Moulson on the Islanders is criminally underrated. He does nothing but score goals consistently and nobody ever talks about him. He's a great player, I'd love him on my team. |

Giroux is producing and has produced throughout his career without a "sniper". Don't know why this should change and make getting a top line sniper a priority over some more important things. - NickTheKid87
It matters because teams overload to g. Yes he still makes plays but if he can get the puck to a sniper when teams overload on him that's going to be alot more goals for us. But I do agree 100% we need tHe dman 1st. But if we can't get that piece get the winger. |

It's obvious player execution is Lavi's fault. Trade him now. |

Call me crazy but ive noticed one thing... Teams dont need talent to beat the flyers, they just need to forecheck them like hell....still no counter from lavy.

With the way Voracek has played, you can't leave him unmarked either. He's just as dangerous as a guy like Perry or Ryan. |

Considering that it wasn't all that long ago that he was LA's "goalie of the future" (more so than Quick) and then has never really pushed Quick for playing time, I'm pretty disappointed in his development. However, he's still young and he has played very well in limited duty this year.

I'm ambivalent about that. I don't think it would hurt, but it also wouldn't likely result in a massive change that suddenly saves the season. When guys don't execute, the coach doesn't matter. |

I think Toronto has pretty good talent with their top six forwards.
And they are playing without Lupul.
But I agree with your point. |

Quick has made it hard for him to get into any regular games...if he can be had by the flyers for a reasonable price, do you do it?

And for the umpteenth year in a row, they CANNOT get out of the zone easily at all. They're driving me nuts! |
