Flyers might have just re-acquired Simon Gagne
Yup, for a 4th rounder - Jsaquella
Of course they did. What other picks should we piss away? |

For those of you who remember him, Lukin probably just threw up in his mouth a little... he hated Gagne. |

Probably so but even still, I would rather have a third line of Read-Couturier-Gagne then a 4th of Rinaldo-Talbot-Knuble/McGinn than what they have out there now.
I know Fedotenko is a good PK guy but I just don't like him. - nastyflyergirl
I still think this club will make the playoffs, 2010 and last year showed that all you have to do is get in and anything can happen. |

At least he hasn't changed his stripes, he's still a Flyers killer.
The next faceoff he wins will be his first. |

Will see. I just rather have a young kid playing those minutes. Wellwood, Harry Z, etc.
I don't see how Gagne fits into their future. - stveshdy
Neither Harry Z or Wellwood are good enough. They just aren't.
Best case for either player would be to go back to Adirondack and have Jon Sim's hands melded to either one of Harry Z's or Wellwood's skating ability and MAYBE you'd have a decent player.

The problem is, they don't have a young guy good enough to take those minutes.
Organizational depth is a legitimate problem with this franchise.
Oh, and I think I read that this 4th round pick isn't even the Flyers' pick....it's a pick they got in another deal. Is that true? Because if that's true, then I REALLY can't see getting upset over this. - johndewar
Not upset over the deal. Just doesn't make sense to me at all. Giving up a pick for a player who is cooked. This team has too many needs and is going nowhere so why trade picks away? I just dont understand it.

Dustin Byfuglien, the NHL's best All Round forward (when he isn't playing D) - Lexington Flyer
yah but he shreds the lead guitar on sugaree |

I just think people are making too much out of it. Gagne's a depth guy at this point. Nobody even knows if he'll end up costing the Flyers anything, depending on what the conditions are. - Jsaquella
I hope they try the KGB line just for shiz. I'm sure it will be a terrible mistake but great for the fans! |

So you are hoping to get a conditional 4th rounder for him? - Atomic Wedgie
I'm hoping he pulls up in a DeLorean and plays like he did when he was 26.
But at the same time, it's an inconsequential move. He hasn't played much, but he has 5 assists in 11 games. |

Gagne is good enough at this point? He has no future here. Team is going nowhere. Rather have the picks for this years upcoming draft. |

I am thinking that Homer wants some help at forward with Read gone. How deep is the draft at the 4th round? If this was a 1-3 pick I'd be mad.. as it is..I am ok with it. - Hextall271
I have no way of predicting what that 4th round pick was going to become. I guess my point of view is one of, this is a season for growth. And to bring in gagne and knuble takes away from seeing what th kids can do.
Maybe I don't see this season as one were the flyers are in a realistic position to win the cup so I see the 4th round pick as more value then a washed up forward.

Im trying so hard to find a gange jersey on ebay right now!!!
We all knew he would come back here sometime (probably when he retired). WIll be nice to see him back in the o and b - flyers4487
I'm going to the game tomorrow and I'd be lying if I didn't say I was legitimately excited to see Gagne skate tomorrow night.
Outside of that.....I'm not expecting much. |

Gagne may not score like he did but he was always a responsible 2 way forward.
Might work OK.
Why not for a 4th rounder? - Marc D
Also, as has been discussed..I wonder what the conditions are? Seems to me like a salary dump for LA, and we have the cap room. If the condition is, we don't give up the 4th unless we make the playoffs.. meh.. who cares. |

Somebody tweeted it was a conditional 4th rounder the Flyers acquired from Phoenix. |
